Nethergate isn't really a series, but it is serious.

—Alorael, who votes for Exile/Avernum, acknowledges that Geneforge has a stronger overall plot, and wishes Nethergate were, in fact, a series so he could choose it.

Geneforge: Very good, but no cigar.

Avernum: This has no originality at all.

Exile: The building block of the Spiderweb Empire.

Nethergate: Shortest series ever.

So, Exile gets my vote, with Geneforge being a close second. Though I don't actually play it, I acknowledge that without it, there would be no Avernum.

Jeff has no "gang". Spiderweb Software games are almost entirely of his doing.

IIRC, Jeff at one point indicated that Mariann and Linda contribute some stuff as well. It's mostly a one-man show, but I think it's not entirely a one-man show.

I think the A4 manual stated that Mariann places tedious objects, such as spoons and plates.

I asked Jeff to make Nethergate more of a series by exploring some other parts of the world in a similar style. More Nethergate style games would be appreciated.

The only Spiderweb games I've purchase are the Avernum Trilogy, BoA, and Exile III. So I suppose that answers your question.

Hmm... Exile wasn't polished enough for me, and plenty of BoE scenarios happen to be better than the official Exile games.

Geneforge is definetely my favorite over Avernum for various reasons - replay value, gameplay, graphics... Although I'll admit that I really liked Avernum 3.

I find the Avernum series highly annoying and not much fun, if you want this type of thing, just play D&D.
Geneforge is original, good game play, good graphics (GF1 aside)and overall, has the best political (and best meaning most complex) sides ever, unlike Avernum, you gots teh good guys and Vahatti and the empire teh bad guys.
Haven't played Nethergate or Exile.

The idea for Exile/Avernum was unique with the whole cave penal colony thing, but that's all that it really has going for it. The Geneforge world on the other hand, is entirely new and fascinating. The whole concept of shapers is so different and exciting. Little things, like batons replacing bows and living tools replacing picks just gives the world its own unique feel. I love the moral questions you need to deal with and I love being able to choose who I side with rather than having it chosen for me at the start.

I'd have to say Avernum, if only for BoA.

Oh, and Taliesin? Well done. Now, just stand right there while I head for the hills.

I googled "vahatti" and ascertained that Vahatti is a wizard in a certain Zelda game.

Rentar-Ihrno is reeling.
