I know, I was an Adept, I was over and finished with being a Citizen of Exile. Then BAM! All of a sudden Stareye comes along and says "Hey, all you adepts, you're now being degraded to Citizens of Exile. And while I'm at it, I'm going to make the next rung is going to be after another 450 posts."

Come to think of it, who wants to be a merchant? And then 200 more posts to the even more useless position of innkeeper. At least from there it's only 50 more posts to Adventurer. Exile must have quite a shortage of innkeepers if the time from becoming an innkeeper to becoming an adventurer is the same as arriving to becoming a merc.

Shouldn't merc, adventurer and the like be on a different scale than citizen, merchant, innkeeper, etc.? What kind of merc quits his career to go become a vanilla citizen? And what kind of innkeeper is capable of picking up arms and going out adventuring?

And the ratings have changed, too… now I'm a "nobleman"?

So what are the current ranks and rankings?

The FAQ is out of date already.

Ooh, now I'm a mercenary! I wonder if that'll stay constant for more than a couple of hours? =P I liked Citizen of Exile, though… Exile is cool. ^_^

Protector *i is having way too much fun with this.

Edit: No, moderators are protectors. *i is a protector in some forums, though, just not this one. What do we have to call the administrators now?

Dikiyoba thinks that "new arrival" should be changed to "novice." And that "Exile Merchant" is entirely appropriate for use as a custom title.

Maybe we should have a poll to decide what the general consensus thinks the new titles should be. That way we can pretend Spiderweb is democratic, at least until Stareye completely disregards it and does whatever the hell he wants. :)

Actually, Stareye has been altering the titles in response to everyone's comments posted in this topic.

DEMOCRACY WORKS!!!

I guess I just haven't noticed because my title has stayed either mercenary or citizen of exile.

Swashbuckler!! Brilliant. I've always been a fan of pirates so I think that these new names are pretty good. Just so long as I never reach 750.

Mercenary? Awwwww. I was hoping for something different from everyone else.

Hey! Here's an idea. How about we get to customize our own custom titles!

From Exile Citizen to Merchant to Mercenary. Whats next?

On another note, I think we should make the high post counts:
10000: Fluffy Turtle Slave
15000: Fluffy Turtle
20000: Supervisor Turtle
25000: Inspector Turtle

Or something along those lines.

Admins could presumably still be Triad Mages. There are three of them counting Spidweb, no?

It would be interesting to tie the titles to proportions of the Exile population -- which it looked like *i was beginning to do, with the whole 50 post length Innkeeper title. However, after the 10,000 Boks fiasco at EE, I'm not sure this would be successful...

Four if you count Mariann, who does some administration but doesn't use her own account for it. Five if you count Linda (no, not the demon-summoning one, although she's probably more well-liked on these forums), who once did some (ill-judged) administration but doesn't even have her own account.

Regardless, there are three admin accounts. They are never adminning at the same time, so it kinda fits the cycling nature of the tower triad.

Technically, there are four admin accounts. Kriszan's account does have admin powers, it's just that it's never used.

Reminds me of the various characters in Exile II (and III, IIRC) who were Triad Mage creature type, but were not actually in the Triad. Like Linda. Heh.

How about we keep the whole "Protector" thing and just make "Bladesmaster" Alo's custom title?

I liked having a designation for 100 posts. Why not keep "Citizen of Exile"?
