I got three boxes of chocolate, one real good, one okay, and one just bad (it had peanuts inside, ew). Three beatiful cards and flowers. It went pretty good given that I wasn't expecting anything, and didn't even have a date.
Flowers and chocolates are overdone, but still feels good when you get one.

Edit: No PMs though

Chocolates are always good. I got some, though it wasn't from a girlfriend per se.

No chocolate here.

I did get a nice juicy guilt trip, though.

I believe that valentines is a crappy ploy by Hallmark to make extra sales but regardless I had to get my girlfriend a card. And I got one in return which is kinda good. But still, it's a rather pointless occasion.

Dareva: "guilt trip?" Was this meant to be self-explanatory or are you hoping to pique curiosity? Well, I'm curious, if you care to elaborate.

I don't want to go into it here. This is a perfectly nice thread and I don't want to stuff it up. Perhaps elsewhere?

Dareva: now you now what it feels like to be male :P
(with an emphasis on the :P )

I realized today that, while I have never had a valentine on Valentine's Day, this is the first time I don't care. It's kind of a mixed feeling - it's nice not to care, but it's also somewhat worrysome. Eh. That's why there's college, I suppose...

And by the way, I am so sick of people who hate Valentine's Day. I mean, if you don't care about it, fine, join the club. But why hate it? If it's commercialized, ignore it. If you don't have a valentine and you're jealous, get over it. The only reason I could think of to hate it is if your boy/girlfriend broke up with you the previous year on V-Day, or your spouse died on it, or something. To everyone else I say Get the hell over it, I don't care how black your soul is.

Several years in a row I contracted mysterious illnesses on February 14th, including one that sent me to the emergency room. It wasn't until later, when someone pointed out that I kept getting sick on Valentine's Day, that I realized that this string of coincidences had kept on going.

Take that as you will.

This wasn't that kind of guilt trip. And since I would never try to inflict that kind of guilt trip on anyone, I'm trying to decide whether to waste time being offended. :P

No, I don't think I will. Being touchy really takes it out of me.

Oh, so that's when you got the syphilis.

...

I didn't get a guilt trip, but a real trip to Idaho. See you guys in a few days, my flight leaves in three hours.

Did TM just hack into Drakey's account, or does Drakey actually have some gossip here?

Amd I did get a valentine - it arrived by post this morning. Late. Grrr. And it wasn't even a novelty one. No funny pictures, and writing in a scented ink...

TM has not hacked into Drakey's account, since Drakey is TM, Drakey is All. Oops, that's Imban.

Kel - Unless something tragically happened to you in one V-day, then I'd have to agree that it's all coincidence, that and that you probably haven't received a proper V-day present.

That means that I'm Imban. But if I'm Imban, surely I'd know about it?

Anyway, I had a decent V-Day this year, for once. I watched some of the Olympics (I never watch the Olympics, but I did yesterday) and had some Martinelli's.

Surely Drakey was referring to VD-day?

I had sushi with a young lady and wound up with the worst headache in my life, and I'm now zonked out on painkillers.

Such is life.

This young lady had not by any chance recently immigrated from Ukraine, had she? If so, better get yourself tested for dioxin exposure.

I am double posting, but it's necessary. I think...

I DID get a valentines card. Of sorts. I don't often check my board email address, and as I did today, I discovered that I had got an E-Card.

So, whoever sent it, thanks.
