After recently seeing the 'What books do you read?' topic i decided to make a 'what music do you listen to?' one. Feel free to share what music you're into and any albums you like. I myself prefer the heavy/ hardcore metal bands like Slipknot, Mudvayne, System of a Down,Mushroomhead Metallica.. but i also like the classical/metal gothic style bands like Cradle of Filth, Tristania,Theatre of Tragedy and Nightwish. -------------------- Diplomacy is telling someone to "Go to Hell" in such a way, they look forward to taking the trip. I'm mostly a classic rock sort of chap- nothing too harsh or loud for me. I predominantly listen to stuff from the sixties and seventies. I adore the Beatles, as well as the solo material of the ex-Beatles, and also listen to groups like Chicago, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Simon & Garfunkel, and the like. I'll listen to some more modern stuff from time to time, but I find myself not enjoying it all nearly as much as I did when I was an alternative fan in the nineties. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. Just as poWrrBot said, whatever sounds good. However, I do like a lot of folk music, funk, latin, of course the blues, CSNY, anything really. Ani DiFranco is a favorite, does anyone know who she is... anyone like her? I like a little of the classic rock, soft punk stuff, everyone at school plays it. Some of it sounds good, I just can't take too much, you should listen to those guys sing... I have an idea. For us musicians out there, we should find some way to post our stuff it so everyone who wants to can listen. I listen to rock- mostly classic rock, but newer stuff as well. The Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, AC/DC, the Ataris, Billy Joel, the Goo Goo Dolls, Queen, the Darkness, and Ozzy Osbourne come to mind. I also listen to They Might Be Giants and Nobuo Uematsu. And the Brothers Chaps, Missy Palmer, and Y-O-U, if they count. There's some other bands that I listen to one or two songs, but I'm either not too familiar with their music in general or just don't like them other than a couple songs. I don't see what's so mellow about Pink Floyd, unless you're talking about exclusively the SB stuff. My playlist is as diverse, confusing, and terrifying as I am. Some bands I like and have liked for quite a while are Staind, Finger Eleven, Trapt, some Metallica, Skillet, and Chevelle. This last summer I started listening to some different music, though. Christian music and country music is one and the same? What the? Switchfoot are a Christian band. P.O.D. as well. Lifehouse (Hanging by a Moment) and Stacie Orrico also come to mind as Christian artists who have become popular in the mainstream. *please note, I'm not arguing the quality of their music here - Stacie Orrico bores me to death, for example - but they aren't country.* I like U2 a lot, particularly their early stuff. I enjoy Evanescence tremendously, also Jars of Clay, Paul Colman Trio, Alabaster Box, and (this might surprise some people) Avril Lavigne.
