I've recently been wondering how Spiderwebbers chose their names. So, I've put together a simple poll to find out. Please post your response as well.

Poll Information
This poll contains 1 question(s). 1 user(s) have voted.
You may not view the results of this poll without voting.

function launch_voter () { launch_window("http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=poll;d=vote;pollid=wtIWNHVzekSX"); return true; } // end launch_voter function launch_viewer () { launch_window("http://www.ironycentral.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=poll;d=view;pollid=wtIWNHVzekSX"); return true; } // end launch_viewer function launch_window (url) { preview = window.open( url, "preview", "width=550,height=300,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status,menubar=no,scrollbars,resizable,copyhistory=no" ); window.preview.focus(); return preview; } // end launch_window IMAGE(votenow.gif)     IMAGE(voteresults.gif)

G5 wishlist. in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

So far the Geneforge series has made the Trakovite cause look appealing, because we've seen lots of shaping disasters. If G5 is going to end the series, then it will probably have to feature the Trakovite option prominently, since that would make for a real conclusion. But it would definitely raise the stakes of the game if we also saw shaping doing some unambiguous good — and not just in undoing damage done by shaping. Some idyllic place that had been howling desert before the landscape was shaped. Some gravely injured or handicapped people, perhaps so from birth, restored to health by shaping. Maybe even some intelligent creations that are neither slaves nor monsters. Something that makes shaping more than just a bad genie that should obviously be put back in the bottle if only that were possible.

That's a very good point. It has always felt kind of evil whenever I play through joining the Shapers. I always end up joining the Rebels/Takers/Awakened first because it's a bit hard to get over the fact that Shapers are so impliedly evil. However, it may be partly true. What if all the Shapers really are corrupt? What if the real government of the Shapers is fully consumed in self-interest? Perhaps there should be a new sect, Shapers, but fighting for the goodwill of everyone. If you know what I mean. It would just sort of give a more realistic feeling to the game. Or even just small collectives of runaway Shapers who run a Shaping healing business, or something like that.

Revolution is basically my job. I am still a beginner though, but it's a pretty good, easy language. I use Apple Motion, Photoshop, and sometimes Cinema 4D in conjunction with it. Revolution also does networking, and I deal with that also. If you're interested in Revolution, go here.

And yes, I know HTML and such aren't programming languages, but it's still basically programming.

I program Revolution, a remake of HyperCard. I am also reasonably familiar with HTML, XHTML, CSS, and a tiny bit of JavaScript. I look at C/C++/Objective-C once in a while, but I don't have them or understand them very well.

Ahh...I've been gone for nearly two months. I have a few little questions I've been thinking about:
What language are the Spiderweb games programmed in?Is anyone here a programmer here besides me? If so, what language/whatever/projects do you specialize in?How does one get in on a beta test and does it require programming knowledge?And finally, How are you?

Romans and Keys.... in Nethergate

I actually don't know if you can even do both quests (as in from Hagfen and the Selkies). And I hate to say it, but that is very dishonourable! However, it's up to you, and as Romans, it doesn't seem as bad to kill magical creatures. With my Roman singleton, I kind of threw the morals in the trash. It's easier to ultra-powergame when you kill all you can, but it's very sad.

Interesting. Do you mean Mac Automator scripts? And is it for the PC Editor or the scenario editor?

You have to get the Lamp Key from "beating" Titus in the Circle Warrens, which is near Hagfen.

Indeed. I second that.

You should also check out the Geneforge series. GF1 is excellent, and so is GF2. GF3 is not as good, but GF4 is a great, more modern game. Nethergate/N:R is also really good. BoE(Blades of Exile) has hundreds, maybe thousands of player-created scenarios to try. BoA doesn't have as many, but has lots of cool features and such. You should at least try all the games.
