Open the Canopy folder. In the Canopy folder, open the files canopy.txt and canopydata.txt. Copy (Ctrl-C) their entire contents from the text files and paste (Ctrl-V) them into the post window.

All Scry does is print HP values, MP values and possibly other information in the message window. It doesn't even do that for you? And none of the other wands work either?

Well, post the scripts then, I guess. They work for everyone else, but we may as well take a look.

(Also, what program are you using to unzip the scenario? And do you experience any other problems other than the wands not working?)

Yes, but did you try deleting Canopy and downloading again? Sometimes a download gets corrupted during the download process.

Alternatively, post copies of Canopy's scenario script (canopy.txt) and special objects script (canopydata.txt) here exactly as they appear in your copy of the scenario, so that we can see for ourselves if they were corrupted.

What, still no luck? What exact version of BoA are you using, and are you running it on Mac or Windows? Have you tried redownloading Canopy in case the download was corrupted or incomplete?

To insert custom graphics using a newer Mac, what you'll want are copies of GraphicConverter and ResFool. GraphicConverter is also good for doing minor edits on graphics if necessary.

One way to do "banking" would be the ability to trade 10000 coins for a weightless, unstackable item worth 28500 coins (thus sellable for up to 9975 coins, depending on the shop -- note, the item MUST be unstackable because stacks of items don't sell for their correct value if that value is over 32767.)

It causes problems in one particular case: if you sell a single item sufficient to bring your coin total over 32767 coins from where you are, an overflow results, and your coins go negative. This is bad, but it's an inherent BoA problem.

Solution: don't sell stuff when you already have 30000 coins.

I'm not too sure, but wasn't there a problem if you tried to reference a town locations that did not exist? I.e, in a medium town, (63, 63).
As KK12 suggested above, this can indeed cause a crash. Jeff's aware of it and freely admits that BoA's exception handling is, if you'll pardon the pun, less than exceptional.

Illegal arguments for functions in general can cause crashes, even if they don't involve graphics. I crashed BoA for Mac once by forgetting to put quote marks around the strings in a print_big_str_num() call.

Er, Magery doesn't affect your melee ability, as far as I know. For magic, each point of Magery gives +1 to your Bonus on both mage and priest spells.

As for Gymnastics, I *think* each point gives +5% to hit, +5% to evade and +1 to initiative, but haven't tested it.

Ok , I figured out what happened in the catacombs. I got stuck in the room your not supposed to be able to get in to. I had to start the whole story over. I don't know how I got in it, but when I did, I would go to leave and I would get a message about not how I wasn't supposed to go in there. Little glitch I guess?
Sounds like you triggered the fight-end-combat glitch. If you exit combat mode, BoA sometimes puts you in slightly weird places. Fortunately, you can usually undo it by entering and exiting combat mode a few more times. (Unfortunately, that's not much help to you now.)

What's the deal with the underground inn? All I seem to be able to do is get the bartender thrown into jail.
And get a nice reward for doing so. :P

You can also talk to one of the patrons and buy priest spells from him (he's just south of the bartender).

quote:
Can you get to the goblins ?
Yep. You'll need some of the explosives from the bugbear caves.

quote:
Can you complete the senario without dying ?
No, but hey, it doesn't *actually* kill your party, so you can still use it in other scenarios.

That works for Mac, but not Windows (Windows dialog boxes automatically disable keyboard shortcuts as well as menus).

Oh, and it only works for text in dialog boxes, not terrains and stuff.
