Hmm, Fi should probably be in Ahonar's group, since that is the only group that is guaranteed to not be wiped out entirely. Or, you could be with Vlad, if you want (though it is not what I originally intended, there is a nameless woman in his group that could be Fi). You're call, really. -------------------- You lose. There. Now there are a bunch of adventurers running around the chapel with orders to kill everything on sight. That should keep you three busy while Vlad finds the Glass Onion. Trust me, having the Onion in Vlad's hands should make things more interesting later on. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

“That’s it? That’s the Chapel of Fallen Might?” The Chapel was tiny. A small dot in the middle of a vast wasteland. Sort of run down, too. No one would ever guess one of the most powerful objects in the world was within. One of the more learned adventurers stepped forward, “Don’t judge it by it’s outward appearance. This building is Vogelian. Lets go inside.” Once inside, the adventurers were baffled to discover that the building was, in fact, massive. The tiny structure outside must have been an illusion, for the main hall right inside the doorway was as huge as the most grand of cathedrals. Truly the building was Vogelian. Once everyone was inside, they began to discuss strategy. Most of them assumed the place was abandoned, and so they were surprised when they were approached by a monk in black robes. “Ah, adventurers. You have arrived. The Prophet will-“ Vlad ran forward and stabbed the monk in the stomach with one of his metal spikes. When he tried to gurgle some last words Vlad shoved another spike into his chest. The monk slumped over, dead. “Woohoo! First kill is mine!” The learned adventurer stepped forward, “You idiot! That was a servant of the Prophet of Nalyd! They are on side! They want to fix the Vale was well!” “How the hell was I supposed to know that?” “We went over all of this! Didn’t you pay attention during the briefing?” Vlad said ‘yes’ but was undermined when Trinculo said ‘no’ at the exact same time. Belinda smiled, she should never have doubted Ahonar’s choice to employ Vlad. The learned adventurer was furious, “There are miles and miles of catacombs beneath this chapel! We needed that monk to guide us to the Glass Onion! You ruined everyth-” The adventurer was silenced as Vlad cast a dumbfound spell on him. “Not so smart now, are you?” The X-High Priest stood up on a pew and faced the other adventurers. “Alright, look here. I’m taking control of this expedition. Any objections? Good. It seems we have a bit of exploring to do. We shall split up into groups of six adventurers, old school style. My group will be me, Trinculo, hot priestess, that huge guy over there with the fearsome armor, that modestly cute archer there, and the archmage. Now lets get down there and kill anything that moves!” Rahona folded his arms and looked to Belinda. She and her God had best be in different groups, to give the Anama a greater chance at finding the Onion first. Belinda approached Vlad, “Uh, perhaps instead of having all the most powerful people in your group, we should split them up, you know, so we have a better chance at finding the Onion.” “No.” “What? Come on. I, uh, don’t like the way the archmage is looking at me…” Vlad noted Rahona’s sly expression, “Whatever. Archmage Whatsyourface, you’re out of my group, we’ll take… that guy over there in the red shirt instead. Now, can we finally get started or was there something else you wanted to whine about?” Belinda looked to Rahona, who nodded. She smiled and turned to Vlad, “Everything is as it should be, let us begin.” -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Once again, Vlad woke up in a place he didn’t expect. He was back on the skyship with Trinculo. “Whew, I had the best dream ever. There was this hot young adventurer woman, she was totally all up ons. She wanted me so badly. Damn, I forget what happened after that…” “Hmm, that might have been a dream, master. I found these on you in the inn.” The Least handed Vlad the note and coins from Fi. “I must say I’m astounded that someone you met actually seems to have not hated you.” “Sweet, free money.” Vlad pocketed the coins and threw the note away. “My sexual prowess is well known among the womankind. I wish I had a coin for every time a whore paid me for sex. Oh, wait, I guess I do.” Vlad let out a creepy chuckle. Trinculo doubted Vlad’s words, but then again, one never knew for sure. “Well, Clarence, how did I get here?” “I carried you, master. We Least can carry many times our body weight and-“ “Yawn! Boring!” As if the conversation wasn’t ended abruptly enough, the skyship rumbled as it came to a landing. The dozens of adventurers moved towards the exit in anticipation. They had arrived at their destination. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Yeah, what is this album thing you speak of? Am I saying that right? Album? You'd think that music would be a timeless thing, but no. Most of these songs are dated and, while I respect some of the artists, most of them suck. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

“Thosh crazy Anamana. They’re shmart though, thosh onesh. Got shpies everywhere, it seemsh. Trickly little, hic, giglets they are, yesh.” Vlad had that glassy look in his eyes signaling that he would likely pass out at any second. Fi urged him on non-the-less. “Who? Who are the Anama spies?” “Y’know, hot priestesh, anoint her with t’oils? I think there’sh another, but I haven’t the faintesht, hic, idea… damned boot!” Yes, Vlad was still trying to get that same boot off. “Was it the priestess or the other one that magically brought down the skyship?” “Shilly shilly woman, Anamas don’t use magics. Heh, unlessh it was some kind of, hic, super Hanama… or… shomshing… Ha! I got et! I got mah boot off! Sweet baby letsh get thish party on the rshsh hreshsh… frshsh…” With that, Vlad keeled over, slamming his head on the dresser on his way down. -------------------- You lose. I must have missed that, too. Well, so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say they've been resettled, right? It would be un-Avernite of them to let all that land go to waste. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Sorry Goldenking, I already had this mostly done when I noticed your offer. The Protectorate of the Lady Location: The Eastern Province of Avernum. The Lady is based in a rebuilt Fort Avernum. Cotra, Silvar, and Fort Duvno pay her tribute and garrison her soldiers. Leadership: The money and brains behind the operation is Lady Calpurnia, and she has purchased the services of Sss-Kai, an experienced slith warrior commanding a small army of mercenaries. Races: Calpurnia herself if from the Empire. Though she has maintained a few servants from her time on the surface she is now employing Avernite mercenaries almost exclusively. The small army lead by Sss-Kai consists of mostly rugged humans with some sliths and nephil scattered throughout. Ideology: A true Imperial noble, it is Lady Calpurnia’s intention to regain her lost wealth and prestige by any means available. Since chaos has overwhelmed Avernum as well, she intends to expand her influence by offering the populace a taste of Imperial order. Taking advantage of a time of utter desperation, she will force the people of Avernum to give up their once coveted liberties in return for a respite from the anarchy that has gripped the land. Safety is a coveted resource in these times, and the Lady offers it in abundance. Those that refuse are made to see just how valuable her protection can be. Since the surface is no longer an option for her, she will not rest until her banner is flown over all of Avernum instead. Military: Since the collapse of the Kingdom of Avernum, Sss-Kai and mercenaries like him have been feeding off the population of Avernum like your usual bandits. They and the population they plunder had been barely scrapping by when Calpurnia arrived in the underworld. Though she has nearly drained all her fortunes recruiting them into her service, she hopes to convert them from a ragged band of mercenaries into a formal army once the money she is extorting from the population is coming in at a more steady rate. History: Lady Calpurnia’s family was of some prominence in Valorum before the fall of the Empire. When it crashed and burned and the noble families were hunted down, she fled to Avernum with all the gold she could carry. Lucky for her, it was enough to acquire the services of the mercenary captain Sss-Kai. Since Sss-Kai was already set up in the ruins of Fort Avernum, Calpurnia made her home there. She ordered Sss-Kai to protect and extort the nearby cities rather than pillage them, thus assuring a more consistent cash flow. Thus, she was able to take over and demand tributeof Silvar, Cotra, and Fort Duvno. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

"Oh ho ho, private you say? We adjourn, then!" Vlad and Fi pushed their way through a growing crowd and into the back room of one of the brothels. The room was occupied by a thin man and a much larger woman, both naked, doing inappropriate things. At one look from the X-High Priest of TM the two of them covered up as best they could and fled the room, leaving him and Fi all alone. "Shall we get started my lady?" Vlad took a swig from a random bottle he found on a table in the room and found it was to his liking. "Why don't you make yourself more comfortable?" Fi pushed an advancing Vlad down onto the bed in the middle of the room. "Ah, right down to business, then?" Vlad immediately began attempting to undress but found he was unable to successfully remove the first boot. "Uhrg, give me one second... stupid thing... ****." "Why don't you tell me a little ore about what you're doing here while you're getting ready? I so do enjoy adventuring stories." She picked up Vlad's drink and put it to his mouth as he continued to work on that boot. He took another huge gulp. "Mmm, you do, eh? Well it just so happens I'm on the most important quest of all time." Vlad hiccuped again, he just hopped he would be able to get it up when the time came. "Gotta save that whole Vale-amajig from destruction, you know." "Please, explain." Fi gave him another drink. "Oh..." Whatever was in that bottle was really strong stuff, "Headed to that Shapple of Mighty Waste... or Northern Might... or something something. Gotta get Onion Dagger. Find someone named Jeff, maybe other some items. Hot priestess, lots of cash. Anoint her with the oils." Fi regretted giving him so much booze, she was losing him fast. "Anything elsh you wanted to know, my luff?" -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Vlad slowly opened his eyes as he awoke. Something was different, this wasn’t his usually drunken nap he was getting up from. His whole body hurt, but not in a good way. His new yellow robes were torn and ruined, and there were people running around everywhere. He was… outside? Oh, yeah, that battle. He must have gotten the crap kicked out of him. Heh, he felt like a kid again. Speaking of kids, that little weird person that’s always hanging around him was back again. “Master! Are you alright?” “Oh, I see how it is. Go ahead and whine about it when I don’t rescue you from a bunch of club wielding maniacs, but then run and hide when I start a fight with a few priests.” “It was an army of Anama! The exact same Anama in both situations, now that I think about it. What was I supposed to do? We’re both lucky that archmage got here when he did. Wow, he was amazing. You should have seen it, master, he was all floaty and like you are not welcome here. It was awesome.” “Yeah, so? I can fly too, probably. Gonna flyyyy away, doo doot doo.” “No. You actually looked like a fool. And everyone saw it. Everyone, master.” Vlad did not like looking like a fool unless he was having a good enough time to make up for it. This was neither good times nor unfoollike times. Vlad was angry. He turned around towards the skyship and blasted it with all his mighty flaming powers. He howled at the top of his lungs while doing this so as to attract everyone’s attention to the rather impressive show of magical prowess. Within seconds, the whole ship was aflame, lighting up the dusk sky. “Take that, Anama scum! And if I catch you in my city again, may the Creator have mercy upon you all!” Trinculo covered his face with his palm. “Master, that was our ship. The Anama ship is behind you.” - Luckily, no one was hurt this time. The adventurers and other necessary personnel were relocated to the Anama ship. The powers that be decided to attempt to recruit a few more adventurers from New Colonia before lifting off, so Vlad decided to wander around the red lamp district until they were ready to leave. The Anama are a religious people, but they still have their needs. This city had it’s share of brothels like any other. One simply needed to know where to look. After the third or fourth whore attempted to solicit him, Trinculo decided it was time to leave. “Master, I don’t think I want to be around when you do whatever it is you do to women, so I’ll just go wait for you at the pub. That way, if you completely forget who you are and where to go, you’ll still probably end up back with me again, safe and sound. Does that sound like a plan?” Vlad didn’t answer, he just wandered on, not noticing when Trinculo was no longer following him. As the X-High Priest sorted through the various street girls with his eyes, he was confronted by a particularly beautiful young girl in priestess robes. “Oh, baby. It must be my lucky day. You look exactly like this girl I knew once. I forget her name, but did she have the sweetest little body! The way her curves went were perfect, just like yours, and those bosoms, immaculate! Ahg, I just wanted to flip her upside down and anoint her with the holy oils, if you know what I mean, then slowly shove the sacred ankh right up her-“ “Stop it! Shut up! What is wrong with you! It’s me! Belinda!” “That’s what her name was! How did you know?” “Oh, gods, grant me the patience I need to deal with you.” “Wait, you’re that Anama hussy! The one who said she’d do anything if I destroyed the Whale. How could I forget. Right, so… what were we supposed to do again?” “You… you… I hate you so much! Everything was going perfectly until you decided to betray us and started killing everyone!” “Ah, so it was me that killed everyone. Silly Pinner with his fanciful archmage stories.” Belinda sighed, “No, I suppose it wasn’t you that slew those Anama. They were, dealt with. More important things… it matters not, now. Are you still on our side or am I wasting my breath?” Vlad got uncomfortably close to Belinda, “Oh? So you’ve been spying on us all along, eh? I should turn you in to the League right now.” Belinda had been backing up as Vlad advanced, and now she was up against a wall. “Tell me, little priestess, what would you do to maintain your cover?” Vlad gasped as he felt something cold and hard press up against his most sensitive areas, Belinda was holding something sharp to his crotch. The look on the X-High Priest’s face was priceless, “Oh, you saucy shard-born ****. Move it little higher, please? Eee, that’s the spot!” Vlad squeaked as the dagger moved ever so slightly upward. “Listen, you worthless, dissembling flap-dragon! I have had quite enough of your nonsense, you will get your act together, board that skyship, and get me those damned items to prevent them from fixing the Vale or so help me I will relieve you of all that you have left in this cursed world!” With that, Belinda removed the dagger at just the right angle to nick Vlad a bit, then pushed him away a good couple feet away in one motion, and disappeared into the downtown crowd. Vlad readjusted his sacred relics and smiled, “I think I’m in love! Drinks! Drinks all around to celebrate!” [ Monday, December 24, 2007 17:54: Message edited by: Emperor Tullegolar ] -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

quote:The Doom movie was indeed horrible. It may be the worst movie based on a game ever. There is Bloodrayne, but that was one of those movies that was so bad it was actually kind of good. Anway, HItman, I think they may have actually done the game justice with the movie. There were some parts that bugged me, like the appearance of a black hitman, but other than that the movie was okay. It was the little things, like how he would wait around a corner and then nail the guy in the head with a silence 9mm, then another guy would walk up to the same spot and he would kill him the exact same way, just like in the game, or how they would throw in a camera angle where it was like third person view in the game. Yeah, it was actually pretty good, I recommend it. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

I have not read the book, but the game Myst would make a terrible movie. "Stupid puzzle, I've been pulling these levers for hours." Click. "Finally. Isn't this exciting?" Ding. "Where the hell am I?" The end. Diablo would a perfect candidate for a movie. It was heavy on main plot but rather light on character development, which leaves plenty of room to make a good screenplay with new characters subplots. Myth would also be good for these same reasons. Wolfenstein would be good, too, since you really never can have enough movies about bizarre Nazi experiments and the occult. Otherwise, since Warcraft is slated to be made into a movie in the near future, there isn't really that much more I can ask for. “His Eminence be praised!” The captain of the Anama skyship folded his spyglass and turned to face his crew on the bridge. “The Runic League’s skyship is down, and in our own territory! Now is our chance to wipe out this pathetic attempt to fix the vale once and for all. Rejoice, for this is the day magic shall fall, a great day for our people indeed.” The ship’s second officer spoke up, “Sir, what shall we do with the other adventurers in our hold? Shall I execute them now?” “No, that will not be necessary. It never hurts to have the extra bargaining chips. Bring them aland, his Eminence will no doubt reward us for capturing them alive.” - As the Anama ship prepared to set down adjacent to the League’s ship, the adventurer prisoners were bound by the hands taken from the ships hold. “What’s happening now, master?” Trinculo noted the usually look of obliviousness on Vlad’s face. “Never mind.” The ship rumbled as it set down in the middle of the city, looming over the slightly banged up League ship. The few adventurers that had gotten their bearings looked on in horror as a full brigade of Anama troops as well as the few captured adventurers disembarked. The captain stepped forward, drawing a sword, looking rather fearsome despite the priest robes under all his weaponry. “League drones! You have trespassed upon Anama territory! Surrender now or your lives shall be forfeit!” Seeing as no one else dared stand up to the Anama, Isaac Erikson made his presence known to the captain, “You call us the drones? That’s rich.” He drew his own weapon, “Tell me, what kind of Anama come to battle without any potions or scrolls?” The Anama shifted their robes around, trying to cover up the empty rings in their belts where potions and scrolls would normal go. “Insolent fool! You are outnumbered! You stand no chance!” “Well then, I have to warn you. My blade is as sharp as my eyes.” Isaac noted that Vlad was standing near the Anama captain, the only prisoner not to have his hands bound behind his back. It was possible that they simply didn’t perceive him as a threat, but Isaac suspected something more sinister. “You there, the X-High Priest…” Vlad looked around just to make sure Isaac wasn’t referring to some other X-High Priest. “And you are?” “Isaac Erikson, but enough about me. How did you manage to end up with these Anama buffoons?” Trinculo jumped up and down and shouted, “Help! Help! The Anama took us prisoner and-“ To make a bad situation worse, Vlad panicked, assuming Isaac suspected his treachery, and turned on his would be allies, “What!?! You guys were the Anama all along!?! You churlish **** clapping harpies!” With that, all hell broke loose in New Colonia. Vlad faced the Anama captain and a blast from his hands sent parts of the man showering over his shipmates. These were not the weak foes Vlad had been dealing with lately, however. Within seconds, the other Anama were protected with magical shields. Those shield did little to block Isaacs swift strikes, but even the rather experienced pair was not enough to stop the formidable Anama forces. They would need help to turn the tide against the small Anama army. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

Holding leaders accountable for their actions runs the risk of undermining the authority of their office. We may force vice-presidents to resign or use cabinet members as scapegoats, but in all American history the government has always avoided attacking number one. Nixon was pardoned, Andrew Johnson was acquitted, and no one dared mess with Jackson, no matter how much of a bastard he was. Remember this: America will much sooner risk having the office of the presidency stained with disgrace than having it look weak. No, Bush is here to stay, and he will not answer for his crimes as long as America is writing history. This is how it is. I just wish we could at least get Cheney. -------------------- You lose.
