Here's where it's really at, gents and ladies: Wizardry. Preferably, Wizardry IV. Gauntlet. Elf needs food. Badly. Q*bert. I see Brad Pitt as the lead. Dig dug. Tom Cruise. Oregon Trail. Drama incarnate. -------------------- --If you lived here, you'd be home by now-- Posts: 14 | Registered: Saturday, February 4 2006 08:00 |

You know, Wizardry and the Oregon Trail both have 6 party members. And both have death screens showing your own tombstones. I see a crossover movie... "Werdna, I think I have dysentary." "Oh no! Here, I'll cast Latumofis." "Shh! I'm trying to Hide so I can Ambush this Large Pixelated Beast (1)." "It's a buffalo. Hey, do any of you have extra Leather Armor? I need to trade three sets to an Indian guide to help us get across the river." "Who needs an Indian guide? I bought this Rubber Ducky back when we were in Independence." "Yeah, but it won't help the oxen swim. AUGH!!! Every time I try to identify what's wrong with this broken axle, I'm overcome with terror..." EV Nova and Age of Empires (I or III...II sucks). Wolfenstein: Escape from the Castle is pretty fun despite of its repetitiveness. Ratchet and Clank is better suited for a one season TV series. A movie would be forced to integrate having to fly to different worlds. -------------------- I dub thee... Posts: 1384 | Registered: Tuesday, February 6 2007 08:00 |

By Excalibur: quote:No thanks. Picture this: you rent the movie and keep it for longer than a week. No problem, Blockbuster doesn't charge late fees anymore, right? Wrong. You're just about to reach for the popcorn when your rec room door is broken down. A shadowy figure bursts in, pulls out several high-powered weapons, and blasts you to smithereens. Now what? My suggestions are Commander Keen, One Must Fall 2097, StarCraft, and MechWarrior. Duke Nukem would just stay in development hell. -------------------- Minesweeper! Pacman! Tetris! I'd love to see Warcraft or Starcraft be turned into a movie. They're both perfectly acceptable, and wouldn't be too difficult to turn into a movie. Let's start with Starcraft. Let's see. We've got humans (actors), Zergs (CGI?), and Protoss (humans + special effects?). Storyline would be easy enough to portray, Jim Raynor and Kerrigan, yadda yadda. Nothing too unrealistic, guns and lasers, and all that whatnot. Warcraft might be a bit harder, as the "plot" is a bit shaky. If producers could find a way to accurately portray whatever the plot is, I don't know, I never played the campaign, I can see it becoming very successful. I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard is already working on movies. They're raking in millions from WoW alone, and with the sequel to Starcraft coming out, they'll have an enormous flow of cash coming into their coffers. Why not try a movie? -------------------- And everybody say....Yatta! Posts: 1287 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |

Producing a Starcraft movie would be rather expensive, and Blizzard probably wouldn't make any profit from doing so. I doubt the production of any films based on computerized games is a profitable business, but my knowledge of economics is lacking. -------------------- I dub thee... A CGI rendition of the protoss civilization would be no less than amazing. :D I must say that a well-made movie of the Warcraft story would be very much worth watching. The drama of the Human and Undead campaigns of Warcraft III is perfectly suited to it. -------------------- "Standing on the rooftops, Everybody scream your heart out." ---- My poetry Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

That says "reality show" more than "movie" to me. Of course, for all Dikiyoba knows, a DDR-based reality show already exists. It wouldn't be at all surprising. -------------------- Episode 4: Spiderweb Reloaded Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Warcraft 2 was way better. I miss the days when orcs were the mindless human smashing machines they were born to be. World of Warcraft doesn't really have a plot of its own. It's more like the plot is already finished and now they are letting you kill off all the characters they created over the years one by one, which if a decent way to end a series. As for what the movie is about... quote:Sounds fine to me. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |
