I hate when people accept things as right or wrong, moral or immoral, just because someone told you to. The random knee-jerks of some man in the sky you can't even prove exists is no basis for a moral structure. Instead of just accepting what the Bible/your parents/whatever says, why not think about why what it says is right or wrong? To stay on topic, I wear clothes only for utilitarian reasons. I see no morality or immorality attached to wearing or not wearing clothes. I can't stand most mainstream rap and hiphop. Sometime last year, I heard a song on the school bus radio (Jimmy the busdriver plays Jammin 94.5, despite the protests of people with actual taste in music, because there's three or so people in the back who incessantly scream "THIS IS CRAP! TURN IT OFF! CHANGE IT!" etc. when anything else is played.) that went like this: "If you don't give a d***, we don't give a f***! If you don't give a d***, we don't give a f***! If you don't give a d***, we don't give a f***! If you don't give a d***, we don't give a f***! Don't start no s***, there won't be no s***! Don't start no s***, there won't be no s***! Don't start no s***, there won't be no s***! Don't start no s***, there won't be no s***! (it repeats like this, with assorted other lines whose only purpose are to put more 'swearing' in the song)" Not only were the lyrics awful, but you couldn't dance to it, and the rhythm was awful and headache-inducing. A totally useless song. Yet, everyone insisted on listening to it, probably just for the sake of listening to something their parents wouldn't like. I think it finally died off, though. However, some rap and hiphop is really good. I have three cats and two cockateils. The oldest cat is KitKat, a splotchy-brown, very friendly cat. I think she's between 10 and 12 years old. She used to be a stray. We adopted her when we found her hiding in the bushes in the front yard with a litter of kittens. There were three of them there. Another one had its head ripped off by a dog or hawk. Two of the three in the bushes were hit by cars. The other one is living with my uncle. She had a litter of kittens, and one of them became a father. KitKat had three litters before she was spayed. The next one we got is Mousie, who is about 5 years old. She's a rather large grey cat. She is very fat and sleeps most of the day. When she's awake though, she is very noisy. She doesn't meow or purr though. She says "MYEEEeeeEeeEEEEHH! MYEH!" The last one is Kitty, who we got from my mother's boyfriend. She is very affectionate. When she wants attention, she wants attention now. She rubs up against everyone's legs and purrs very loudly. The birds are Waldo and Cookie. Waldo is about 14 years old. Cookie is about 10, I think. Waldo lets me pet him, but Cookie just bites me. "Fundie" is short for "fundamentalist" which is a person who not only is very religious, but also who dislikes people who are not of their religion, and takes their religion to be absolute, undeniable truth, even when offered evidence to the contrary. I got an idea. It's good, I think. Incidentally, I also discovered the meaning of life. Again. It's different this time though. It's pretty much part of a new religion. It's in development now. It's not all entirely new concepts nobody ever thought of or anything like that. It's just a different view on the world and the afterlife, and some other stuff. The best part is the holy text. I doubt it will end up being more than ten pages long. No more do you need to clear two whole shelves to fit your entire text into your home! No, TM, I don't take it to be the undisputable truth, so don't start on it. Mine usually start out as something that randomly pops into my head. Then I think about them some more, and I call my cousin so he can poke holes in my plots and stuff so I can fix them. I always seem to confuse him about some big part of it though. I could try my "God as portrayed in the Bible is as evil as Hitler" argument. I put a lot of thought into it. Even if it doesn't work, it's still fun to see people freak out about it. But really, it is a perfectly logical argument. Unfortunately, the bulk of the argument is against the idea that nonbelievers go to Hell, rather than the idea that magic is evil. I had actually tried to make a scenario like this before. I would have done it if everyone didn't immediately shout "AH GOD NO IT WILL SUCK" at me. By the way, mine was also called Dungeon Crawling. If you do make the scenario, please give it a different name. It's just a generally bad name. I really want to make a scenario. I'd make it for BoA, but I'd rather spend my time learning C++ than Avernumscript. So I'll make one for BoE. I have good coding skills. What I lack is an idea for a scenario. I could do the one I was making for the DFTS contest, but it formed part of the background for the games I want to make professionally, and I decided after the contest was over that I was going to get rid of magic for the most part, meaning the scenario I was making would need a lot of changes. I guess I'll look through the countless "Someone make this scenario!" threads. EDIT: By the way, BotS, I just noticed the topic you started a while ago about SDFs, and I noticed nobody pointed out that SDF (0,0) is buggy and seems to randomly reset itself. Don't use this flag for anything other than a one-shot special. They all seem like great ideas. They could all turn into very enjoyable scenarios if done well. On the other hand, if done poorly, they could be awful. I, personally, would like to see all of them. Dungeon crawls often do become plotless. This isn't always a bad thing, though. Not all games have to have a plot. A basic background or premise often suffices. There are several One-Shot nodes called Display Dialog (****** Pic), where "******" is Dialog, Terrain, or Monster. These allow you to have choices.
