How important is Luck? in Avernum 4

Luck seems to work off the party total, not just the highest level of one character.
If you do not have any luck invested yet, you may be okay. It seems you need a lot of luck at the beginning to get better drops, but less at the end (though higher luck does give better items). Maybe due to percentages and higher monsters being able to drop more/better things?
Even without better items, the resistances and armor that luck provides makes giving two points to each figher (and anyone else who gets hit often) quite worth it, especially at the end when more spells are cast against your party.

Go into the editor and click "Reset Hostile Towns." This should work, as the description says it returns residents to life.
If it does not work and you really want "any way," you could start a whole new game. But I do not think you will need to.

It is easily possible in the full version.
Maybe with cheating with the unregistered editer.
Otherwise, it would be incredibly difficult and most likely impossible in the demo.

You cannot win. The final bosses imprison you in a dugeon that takes an hour to go through (to make sure that you saved inside) and there is no escape.

You play as a servile in a shaper world.
As the servile you would constantly have to fetch things for people (wait...).

You are told of a merchant that makes the best weapons in the world, but when you go see him, he becomes so frightened he has a heart attack and dies.

How big a hint do you want?
First go to the Abyss and see Bluth.
Go north and pull the lever.
Head to the farmhouse to the east.
You should be able to handle it from there.

Cecil in Cotra does not train Quick Strike. Is this the problem?
Or do you mean Captain Call in Silvar will not train you? He will not train you in Quick Strike, Parry, or Blademaster until the shade is dead.

And a piece of dried meat near the beginning would make the game easier, but is not required.

I tested sluggish and a few other traits in the past, and they increased, so I figure all hindrances increase as levels are gained.

All the items in Appelo's shop are marked NY, except a bottle of wine.
Some expensive shops in real life offer free alcohol to customers to decrease their inhibitions and slightly depress them, thereby increasing the amount customers buy.
Appelo offered my party some wine when we entered her shop.

The south guard house in Fort Monastery has a cavewood bow, amphora, two tunics, and leather armor that are marked NY, but the pair of scissors is free for the taking.
While my female human distracted the guard, my dexterous mage carefully removed the small pair of scissors and put them in his cloak.

Not really a dumb question.
I was told by a friend before I got the game, otherwise I do not know if I would have figured it out. The past Avernum games had arrows, Geneforge games used up thorns, thrown weapons are still used up, and I can find no documentation mentioning the change (I looked in the Avernum 4 Instructions pdf file, the in-game help, and at the tutorial pop-up windows, but I may have missed the explaination).

Anatomy in Avernum 4

In the training window anatomy is described as:
quote:
Intimate knowledge of anatomy will help you with First Aid and aid you when fighting humanoids. Your blows will do more damage against humans and similar species.
I can see the extra damage against humanoids. However, I see no extra benefit to first aid. Does it affect first aid? Even if it does not, the skill may still be useful, considering the damage increase and the number of humanoids.
