Oh yes, Riibu wins the bet, not only because she was the only one to bet, but actually managed to guess the winner. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

To answer Artic's question: The point was to save the files that are going to be deleted. The reason is that whether considered important or not, each topic is part of Spiderweb's heritage. Each and every post. Sure, some may not seem important to you or even most of the board members, but everywhere you look is someones' first post, a memorable argument, someone not understanding something and making a fool of themself, anything... Or for those who still claim that it was stupid, two words: Galatic Core. Satisfied? We saved a total of 176 pages. That's roughly 4500 individual pages. Each as important as the next. Well, anyway it is done. I have assigned credit on the header post in contribution order. And as Aran said, now it is a matter of finding webspace. Nonono. Aran. You only win when you get them all. Otherwise it wouldn't be fair on the other two would it? Nor would I be a fair bookie. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I'm afraid I can only give you odds of 9 to 6 on Aran. And he only counts if he finishes the entiriety of all the things he's getting because he's probably already sucked it. EDIT: Nice save Riibu(!) ;):D:D [ Sunday, August 15, 2004 12:27: Message edited by: FatBatMonkey ] Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Nice. We've got Alec and Djur both with claims on GC. Also in the race we have Aran who is sucking the entire site, and only counts as a winner if he finishes the entire suck on everything. Shall we start a pool on who'll actually finish it first? Djur at 5 to 3 Alec at 7 to 4 Aran at 9 to 6 Any bets? EDIT: Oh yes, I'm half done re-doing my files with the new method. 2/3s of the entiriety to begin with was done the old way, half-way through I'm down to 43meg. Riibu, or for that matter, anyone who saw and understood that, just out of curiousity, what did that mean?? I only understood about two words. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Okay, my part is 47meg at the mo, though I'm re-doing some of the stuff with the new method and that should cut it down a bit. As for hosting/webspace, well... any ideas? Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Thanks Djur. Honestly. Where did you do between? EDIT: 5-7 done to Unsolved mysteries of E2. Waiting on GC, and then where Garrison and Djur did between and then we can declare a holiday. I like. The eye does look a little odd, the ears do need colour, and his stance does look a little odd, but other than that it's good. Be proud. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

?????? Ummm... except for 5-7 ET (which I'm doing now), Alec's claim of GC and 20-22 in BoE(Your claim), everything's done. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Okay, I'm about to finish mine in ET. Then I'll tally it up and declare it finished. We, however have heard nothing from Alec, and BtI seems a touch mute aswell. Hate to say it but, if anyone fancies stealing theirs out from under their noses, feel free. EDIT: After I've done mine, I'm going to re-do all those with double files to make it simpler. EDIT2: Actually I'm going to re-do my General quickly first, taking advantage of lax deletion policies. EDIT3: IF anyone re-does anything, make sure that you do it between the same topics as last time, not just the same pages, otherwise there might be gaps. What I do is just quickly copy the name then save it like that using hotkeys. Takes about two seconds. Then I just save them one folder per main page. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Halle-soddin'-lulejah! THANK YOU KEL! For Windows users, right-click and select "save target as". Previously I was having to go in and hit save as, which also created another separate file for the blooming imgs. Now I have seen the light!! Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Kel is of the thinking that BSC misunderstood slightly? I would doubt that considering the wording. Hmm...? And if you have figured out a faster way, do share... Anyway, 20-22 done. And it meshes, moving onwards. BTW, is anyone else experiencing server-related problems? It seems that all this extra traffic is affecting it. *Blinks rapidly in amazement* *And again* You managed 27 or so pages in less than an hour?? I'm averaging one every ten minutes!! BLOOMIN'-HELL-FIRE LA'!! *regains composure* The first page doesn't need saving as everything on it is within the last 45 days. Jolly good work. Okay, Aran, where did you do between on 29-30 BoE? BSC, I'll put in your claim, but are you sure about that?? ALL of GF2? Fair do's. Okay, I'll take the 20-22 gap in ET to make sure it meshes. Then I'll continue work from the top. EDIT:[b]EVERYBODY DUCK!! Okay sorry 'bout that BtI. No worries. Aran, it's on the hit-list, they're killing it. Ben, RC is in possession of the original PPP. As I understand it, the company hosting his website went abit screwy on him and he's currentely looking for somewhere to host that archive. I dunno, maybe there's something more on it over at Chance. As for this one, I have no idea what we're going to do with it after it's done, but that's something to worry about after we've saved it. Also, que? Djur is banned? Then why doesn't that show up? I can't see anything wrong. And we're not doing anything wrong Kel. We had the blessings of Mariann to do this. The list is also updated. Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Okay 16-17 gel as does 25-26. I have absolutely no idea what's keeping BtI, or Alec for that matter, but I'm starting on my claim now. EDIT: Oh yes, and if anyone out there voted on that poll, if you could see your way into getting it, or giving it to one of us, much appreciated. Otherwise we'll just have to leave it.
