I didn't know all that about the mac mini... But you see, its the cheapest mac around. I can only spend 900 euros on a new computer. Is it possible to change processors of a computer? I suppose not. And even if it could be done, it would prbably cost tons of money that I don't have. With that comes a 100 euro for Mac OS X and costs for a bigger harddrive. My wallet wouldn't survive that I think. Still, people, I'm getting quite interested. Do you guys have more tips that I wouldn't hear from Apple? EDIT: Why is the mac mini actually so slow? quote:On saturday and sunday I can be there certainly at 18:30 GMT, but maybe also earlier. So this mine in Falador. I was at a mine in Falador to the south of the city. was this the mine you were talking about Eldibs? If so, I didn't find coal. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! So where is the mining place you were talking about? Is it to the south? I didn't find coal there. To answer your second question, no. I'll be in bed, snorring, in two hours. The time I write this post is the time I do some last things and I shut down the computer, so later then this time I can't log in. In about 12 hours I get up, and then add another 8 hours before I can log in. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I decided I'd stik with Lumbridge and Varrock. Its simply more choice closer to each other. In Falador the selection of ores was actually quite small, and the rocks were quite strange. I saw that there was only iron. for Coal I would still have to walk quite far. So as od tonight, people can still find me in Varrock or Lumbridge. Unless there is a place where one can find coal, iron, a furnace and a bank in one town, I'll go there. otherwise its not really worth it. Thanks anyway, Eldibs. By the way, is there any chance we can meet? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! quote:Finnaly somebody who understand it. yes, the Exile 1 music is Bach. Thanks to Eagle, I'm now working on a remake for orchestra of the Exile 1 Bach version. Does anybody know exactly the name of this fuge of Bach? Personnaly, I would like to see (hear) it this way: introduction screen: fourth movement of Dvozak's eight symphony. When you die: Gotterdamerung by Wagner. Chased by monsters: Die Walküre by Wagner. in a boat, on a river: Die fliegende Hollander Ouvertüre by Wagner. In the Vahnatai lands: Exile 1 music (Bach). At Nephilim: music from the musical "Cats." At the Slithezerikai: Rachmaninov's first symphony. At the Chitrachs: Something of Händle. Maybe "Rejoice Greatly, O daughter of Zion"? For one or all of the Vahnatai tests: Khachaturian's saber dance! That's all I can think about for now. By the way, not everything in O Fortuna is actually Latin. parts are in old French and German. Again, when stuck in the honeycomb, I would listen to Die Walküre of Wagner. Are there differences between furnaces? I use Lumbridge becasue its close. Does Falador have really everything, or does it only have a furnace and mining place? Is their an anvil there? And then one last question: Is the mining place their really big? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Okay. I how to see you then around 7:30. Earlier then that I won't be able too (trombone lessons). I will be logged on probably between 7:30 and 8:15. I hope to see you, but if not, we'll meet another time. EDIT: Many times people do negotiate. You probably just found some noob who thinks he has the best items and wants everything people are prepared to give him, or it was somebody clever who saw a newbie and thought he could easily rip him off. Be careful. Maybe he said "foe goe"? I'll leave it. The only things I can think about now is chickens and Latin anyway. "Ceterum censeo Carthaginem delendam esse." My favorite latin sentence. Friday I'm busy: orchestra rehearsal, so i won't have time on any Friday. On Saturday I mau have time, but at the moment I'm not so sure. I think I probably will have, at least in the evening. About the trading: Um... you CAN buy that, but why? Its all very useless actually. I think that those bolts are with the ten coins more worth, so you were probably pipped off. Bronze daggers I think you should try to sell at a sword shop, because nobody else who know the game will buy it from you. Feathers and poison? I don't know what to do with it, but certainly feathers you can just pick up everywhere at a chicken farm. Fishing spots you can find at the river, flowing near Draynor village (the village were you got lossed). Tin ore. I didn't have the time to tell you about an other place. tin ore by itself is almost useless and you won't get much money for it. I recommend dumping half of what you have in your bank account, and go to the other mining place near Varrock. To be more precise: go back to the mining place I showed you. Then walk to the road and the city gate closest to you. You'll pass the "champions guild" on your way. Now go along the walls, passing the hill with the strange stone-henge like stones on it. The hill also has some dark wizards running around on it. Don't get close to them, as they will certainly blast you away if you are under their level. Now walk on. Eventually you'll get to a mining place with copper and tin. Now fill up your inventory with copper. Now you've got copper and tin. now go to the furnace in Lumbridge, and smelt the two together. You'll get e bar of bronze. Now go back to Varrock and find an anvil, were you can make something out of the bronze bars you just made. I we can meet, I'll show you everything you need to do. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! Eagle, I found it very nice to meet you. Can we meet again today at the same time? Sorry if yesterday I seemed to be reacting very slowly, but that was because while talking to you, I had my mother behind me who wished to know everything about the game. As a result I talked to two people simulteaniously. Also, thankls for offering to send me the samples you were talking about. Some day I'll send you an audio file (yes, an audio file. Printmusic 2006 can save audiofiles!) of what I made of it. Would you want that? EDIT: I almost forgot to say I also liked to meet you guys, Wise man and Alex! I'll see if we can meet again. Now I know around which time you guys are logged in. Its around 14:30 GMT, I think. My Imac can get very hot sometimes. Then it cools down and nothing happened, so no. I don't think the heat is a problem. What I find strange (and an enormous plus) about my Imac, is that you don't hear the vent. It always silent as the grave. Can anybody explain me this? Then another thing: I have 2gb free on my harddisk. I could buy an external harddisk of 40gb and connect it to my Imac. Its processor is a G3 of 350mHz. Will it take Mac OS X or suffer from a hartattack the minute I install it on the computer, because it definetely could run Mac OS X. EDIT: The reason I was thinking of a mac mini, is that its cheap. mouse and keyboard I already have. I'll buy a cheap flatscreen with it, and then I'll have the screen for my PC and my Mac. But its mainly to save money and get a very small space saving computer. My Imac can do almost everything I want it to do. Its five years old and has some problems (like instant freeze after doing quit by shortcut), but I've never been more proud of a computer or any other apparatus. The only problem is that newer software is made for Mac OS X. The BoA 3D editor I now use on my PC. internet I mainly do on my PC. playing games I mainly do on my PC. Itunes is now only for Mac OS X, although I still have Itunes 2 on my Imac. All this because I'm afraid my Imac would get a hartattack. If I would put Mac OS X on my Imac, I'm afraid my Imac wouldn't take it. This mainly because I only have 2 giga's left on my harddisk. In any case I still would have to wait till july next year before the money will come avaiable. The computer I'm aiming for is a mac mini with Mac OS 10.4. When I got it, my PC will become almost redundant, something I would like to see happening, because with every minute that it gets slower, my frustration is doubled. So in summary: Can my current Imac do everything I want? No Can a mac mini do everything I want? probably (although certain things I'll ALWAYS do on my Imac. I've never felt such nostalgia with a computer. Only the thought of bringing my dear Imac, wrapped in paper, to the big blackness called "the attic," makes me cry, and I'm serious) Am I fed up with the PC? YES Do I like Mac OS X at all? Don't know really. At the moment not really. Do I see a reason to change? software What I mainly ask is what your general opinions of Mac OS X are. What do you guys make of it? (And then one last thing: Of all systems, I find Mac OS 9.2.2 the nicest most stablest system of all) -------------------- "remember, children, that chickens are your friends. you must only eat them when you've the appropriate oven and gardening supplies."- As said by Benjamin van Soldt himself. I don't want to start a Mac vs PC war, but I have to ask this. Is it worthwhile, you who are working with it, its you who I'm asking, to switch from my old Imac G3, to a new Mac mini with Mac OS 10.4? I', now using Mac OS 9.2.2, and its faster then my mothers Emac. Is your username eagle-tas or Eagle Tas, because I get the last option when typing it in. EDIT: I understand your reaction. I'm the same. I make it all myself, even to the extent that I sell everything that I didn't make but got from a friend. Of ourse I try to get a huge profit out of it. It works! All the time I manage to get the double and sometimes even the triple price for it! Wait, are we talking about three individual games, or a bundle by which you get it all together? because with the seperate games, I don't see why you wouldn't get three times the discount. Then you would have $75 - $30 = $45 - 10% = $40,50. In the other case I don't know what will happen. Just ask. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek!
