Okay, that's close enough. Although we will now begin the ceremony, I encourage passing cultists to continue to check in. Pater Albion noster, qui es in coelis, Sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, Sicut in coelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie. Et dimitte nobis debita nostra, Sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem: Sed libera nos a malo. Amen. Okay, let's get right down to business. The first issue we must deal with is the heresy of Slartucer Tuckersworth, who renounced his beliefs in Richard White for a nonexistent and fanciful god, the Cow. This trial will be conducted in absentia, which basically means the proceedings will be even more of a farce than they already are. Slartucker Tuckersworth, you are accused of heresy and of worshiping a false god. How do you plead? .... Very well. Burn him at the stake! [Whisper]No, you fool, I don't know how we'll burn a person who isn't here. Just pretend he's invisible or something.[/Whisper] ... Okay, now that we've got that out of the way, I will ask for volunteers to explain why they shouldn't also be killed in horrifying ways. Don't be shy! -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

I finally, after fasting for three months in a cave, understand why Icshi has left us. He has not forsaken us; he has left us on our own to test our faith. Yes. One day, when we have made ourselves worthy, He will return and reward those who stood by Him even in His absence. Those who merely joined this cult for the glory will move on to greener pastures. Those who lack the proper commitment will be rooted our by us, the true believers, and be properly disposed of. So that we can ensure His return and display our dedication, I would therefore like to bring to order the first Inquisitionary Hearing! It will be presided over by a council of three: myself, Our White Lord's Exarch of Benevolent Love and Other Happy Things, Such as Kittens and Assorted Candies, as Well as the Occasional Holiday Bonus Paycheck, and Lord Patron Commander-Leader Person, and will be commenced with an invocaction of His Whiteness. But first we have to have everyone check in. So: check in. That was why I made a joke about the fact that TM's posts are usually either one-liners about mothers or long dissections of Christian theology, while his scenarios are usually in the same style as his post. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

We've already established how lazy I am. Sieg Heil. I'll probably have to fix that one up some day, partly because it has actual promise and partly because it's so bad. "No, attention. Do you get it now? Attention? Oh, god no you sicko! Not that kind of attention!" Then the third one started hitting on the girl. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Well, I was thinking about my idea of a Catholic priest. I google-imaged "Catholic priest" and found many pictures of white men in black dress-thingies. I was thinking about editing pictures like this one, ones which are on the public domain and so free to be edited for my own use. But then, while I was looking for a good palette for the monk, I noticed that Stareye had already made a graphic that was pretty much the same as what I would make. But he didn't look priestey enough, so I gave him a shiny necklace. Also, here's a link to the Archbishop graphic by Jayne Holt. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

quote:Of course you have a right to argue. What you don't have a right to do is insult people. You may feel that they started it, and that you then have the right to answer in turn. That's where your paranoia comes into play. You're seeing insults where there are none (or occasionally where there are, but not so often). And what do debating tactics have to do with this specific issue? Pretty much nothing. But if you would quit your smear campaign this whole thing would be much cleaner. It's not like they're helping you convince others or win the argument. And I assume that you'll deny that you ever insulted anyone during the course of this debate. Well, here's some evidence; if you feel that this isn't enough, I can find more. quote:You interpreted my post as an insult and responded in what you percieved to be the same matter. Though you said, "Or maybe...", your intent is clear. Also, aside, you cannot say that my sympathy is misplaced until you have proven so, because that is part of the key issue. quote:Calling someone pathetic is not the best way to do things in most cases because in most cases you want to avoid using tactics commonly seen on the primary school playground. quote:Disdain, especially when you go out of your way to point out your disdain, is not a proper attitude; he is, after all, a human being with rights and emotions. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Bump. I decided that BoA needs more Catholic clergy. So here we go. A monk, color-shifted from a Spidweb graphic. A priest, which varys very little from the original graphic by Stareye except that it's been blinged out. TM's moniker topic was nearing 1000 posts (within 25 posts), but then WKS posted either most or all of the Kama Sutra, causing the topic to bug. See here. A newly created account, The Crusher, was banned for "spamming with multiple accounts". See here, far down. But don't miss the funny link in the first post, or the self-important alert of a thread title. I'm not sure if you were around for this, but either a copycat or Ed himself tried to come back. However, the two accounts were banned before either could post, or neither ever were intended to post. And recently I was decided to be the most clever and handsome. Oh, and Aran tried to take over the boards with a military coup. How you can do that over the internet, I won't be certain. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

quote:That was no implication that you are brainwashed or otherwise less intelligent. That was a statement that you shouldn't accuse people of being brainwashed, which gave slightly humorous reasons why. I'm getting tired of you arguing. Not for the reason you might expect: I fully understand that someone who disagrees is by no means automatically unintelligent and that their opinion might have merit as well. It's because you're being paranoid and assuming that since everyone is on the other side, they're slinging insults at you. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

Also, it's always a bad idea to accuse someone of being brainwashed. It's always possible that the accuser is the one brainwashed but has been brainwashed to think that they're not, as well as being brainwashed to think that people who disagree have been brainwashed.
