Rather than start a new thread I'll post a couple new terrain graphics in here. Note: These are in jpeg format. If you want to use these graphics just email me at JetGuitarist89@aol.com and I'll send them to you in bmp format. Shrines/Statues - Angel is a color swap of a statue from the game, with added wings. The demonic figure is custom (with exception of legs and base.) Armor Stand - Edit: Stand is custom, armor is not. None of these are new, nor have I ever tried them in BoA, but here they are anyway. Ablis, who is a redcoat for some reason. Captain Avernum! Hopefully if you use him as a two-tiled monster it will appear as if he is flying. He is made from the King Micah and Vahnatai Lord graphics; he flies around with his jetpack, presumably dispensing justice. The Hallucination. To wit: Ogre (?) dying; mage on chair upside down; Nethergate woman with tiny ghouls; cryohydra Vahnatai; dying skeleton; inverted carpet; Vahnatai Lord fire Book icon; Nephil in rocket-chair; dying Demon Golem; inverted stag statue Ceremonial knife; inverted stairway; Trog shaman (BoE); rat (Exile 2 originals) Sheep, rotated in various directions, for dying animation. Hebrew glyphs for outdoor graphics, with no particular significance. A Lena Xao PC graphic. For those of you not familiar, she's the half-space-alien child of the founding father of Aixo (which was once Aizo), rules the country with an iron and genocidal fist, and prefers women. This is a graphic for which there is a universal need. Worth it for the adorable cape alone. A poison trap that grows when you kill it: And a fire trap that just goes off and poofs: Originals, although not any good. All of these were made in Paint. I've been picking up GIMP, but it's a slow road. [ Tuesday, August 01, 2006 17:15: Message edited by: The Worst Man Ever ] Posts: 794 | Registered: Tuesday, October 11 2005 07:00 |

We've already established how lazy I am. Sieg Heil. I'll probably have to fix that one up some day, partly because it has actual promise and partly because it's so bad. Making good graphics takes time. I'd advise spending the time to make one really good graphic as opposed to hundreds of lazy edits. Also, before starting, try to picture the general pose and idea of the creature (or terrain) you are bringing to life. For monsters, more important than expert color shifts and shading, your graphic needs to convey realistic energy and movement. Notice how the whole body moves when he swings? This process can be time-consuming but the accomplishment feels so much more rewarding. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Some very nice work there, especially the latest axeman graphic. So any news on that balloon and giant, Slith? No pressure or anything, of course. quote:Sorry, I've been having a trouble with the giant, specifically picturing what I want him to look like. I haven't put as much time into him as I could have, but I have a summer job and I recently moved. I wasn't the one who said I'd make the balloon, however, I will if you need me to. The balloon shouldn't be anywhere near as hard as the giant. I'll still make the giant though. Your effort is much appreciated. There's no need to rush; it'll be a couple of months before the scenario comes out and I can use one of the regular ogre or giant graphics as a stand-in until the final release. Don't feel any pressure to make the balloon unless you feel like it and have the time; I can probably even make it myself, although it might not be very good if I do. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Bump. Some sort of hard-core samurai who commits Seppuku for a death sequence. Except without all of the wimpy poetry that you're traditionally expected to write. The inspiration is here, although this is hand-drawn and only vaguely similar. I'd like credit for this one. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

The only suggestion I'd make is to fix the back attack pose. The only difference between it and the ready stance is that the samurai seems to be suddenly wearing snow boots. Edit: I dont think you need to credit inspiration unless you feel like it. Hell, most of my graphics have some sort of picture I find to base them off of. *Bump* I just wanted to point out that since Ermarian changed it's address, Rakshasi's graphics can't be viewed anymore. Do you have your own site or any place else where we can see them? -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Actually, the address is the same as always. My folder was just deleted, I think, at random. ;) If you really want to see them, they're still in Google's cache. Which means that you can go to Google's website, do an image search for "rakshasi", and then scroll down to the bottom. A line of text should say something like, "View search results without omissions". Click on that. Then you'll be able to see smaller pictures of all of my graphics. If you really like any of them, you can just tell me the file name or give me a brief description. I can then e-mail them to you. But I guess I should get around to submitting my originals to the Lourve. So the samurai and necromancer should soon be found there. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

I checked my transfer backups, but it seems the files were deleted before the backup was made, since they're not in there. Rakshasi is always welcome to re-upload them, although given the nature of this webspace, the fact remains that anyone with access can delete them. I can PM you the access details if you don't know them anymore. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Well, I tried uploading my graphics. However, doing so through Ermarian seems to run the things through a blender, and the programs end up not opening correctly. I tried my hand at file compression, and I just sent one to Jewels. If I did it correctly, my Zip file should contain a folder with my graphics. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

quote:You just somehow managed to remove all the file extensions before uploading. I'm not sure how this was accomplished. What FTP client and Operating System are you using? rename 's/$/.bmp/g' * has done the trick. Your graphics are now visible under the normal file names. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Recieved, thank you. I'm planning a PixPro update at some point. I'll go through and make sure that any white highlights, noise, and cutoffs are taken care of before they're posted unless there are any objections. -------------------- "Even the worst Terror from Hell can be transformed to a testimony from Heaven!" - Rev. Great trees. I like the colors, and they should help add variety. And nothing says the pine tree loses the needles in winter; it could just be dead. -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! "On guard, you musty sofa!" Posts: 627 | Registered: Monday, March 7 2005 08:00 |

I used the dead pine tree for just that purpose in FB, so it's still a useful graphic. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |
