Call for input: Standardizing on a rating rubric in Blades of Avernum | |

I would rarely bother to rate a scenario if it required more than 3 different numeric scores. Enjoyment, replay value, and technical. I would also like to see validation of reviews by allowing users to give a thumbs up or down to the review, depending on how it matches their experience. This will allow a user to pick scenarios that are compatible based on previous reviews. By the same light, and totally abusable, I would like to see the ability to call into question the review (and reviewer) by allowing a series of thumbs down to suspend that right to review. If no one is finding a review to be helpful, should it be allowed? The notion of rubrics is great, but when put into practice only a few people will take the time and effort to make sure that they are fully utilized. The remainder (me) will just do what they want and not care about the balance. See the Lyceum for what you can expect as a range of reviews, and I would suggest that those submitted during the ratings contests be ignored. :) -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." Really? I usually go right for the filename on any image I don't recognize immediately. ET (may he rest in peas) messes me up by garbling the names, but this one should be crystal clear. -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." I agree with Drew. Reading "Golden xxxxxxx" on the interwebs always leads my brain to the showers. It was just surprising that it came from Excalibur, but I suppose it was inevitable. :P -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." Excalibur also seems to think a picture refers to him, so I would hastily discount any guesses he may venture. -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." Thralni - "a lot of people are ... too weird to be trusted" Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

During a recent, profanity strewn interview, an irate Dikiyoba stressed again how upset she was at the state of this thread. "blah, grawh, blah, spam, blah, GRAHHH!" were her exact words, more or less. Currently, she is no longer accepting any applications for appearances, but the truly desperate should send her anonymous gifts of meat. Those wishing to no longer be considered for inclusion in this story, its derivative works, and any sequels, should continue to spam and pester her using this thread as a vehicle. Dikiyoba has thus spoken. -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." Argon - "I'm at a loss for words..." Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Synergy also hasn't posted in a short while. And this is funny stuff. Shooting oneself in the foot is always funny. I just noticed that the reporting is shoddy. No where does it say if the technique worked. Maybe they were worried about copycat mechanics? -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it."
