It's almost like you are using a web based comic generation program. Lord knows there is no comic fodder in these forums. Uh uh no way. Sheesh. ps. well done on the comics. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

The source looks truncated. For example, there is no /title. I don't know html, but there ought to be quite a few forward slashes to lend legitimacy. Backward slashes are cool too, but there is nothing like the forward slash to make a web page zing. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I've never seen those. The critical files I get are tracking cookies and the occasional instance of Alexa. Surprising, the computers at work have more issues than my home computer. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

If the spyware/ad removal tool you are currently using is problematic, there are other choices available. I use cnet's download.com site to get independent ratings of many products. Simply typing "spyware" into the searchbar will get you what you need. The program I use, AdAware, divides "threats" into several categories, but requires none of them to be deleted. Cookies are not considered to always be bad, but tracking cookies generally are flagged. The Alexa bot is frequently flagged. Your best bet in any case is to read the documentation that comes with the product, see if the product is suitable to the application, and then decide if you wish to continue use. For the record, "losing your cookies" is a turn of phrase which I do not regret using. It was neither harassment or helpful, just lightly humorous. Apologies to any who thought it a phrase of belittlement. Edit - A search for "noadware" retrieved a program which had a very poor rating and few downloads. It may be time to change vendors. Offensive remarks removed Edit - Sorry to have annoyed, didn't realize that it was such a big deal. Not much point in changing it though as Aran has quoted the offending remark, but it's gone anyhow. :) Two days ago I naively imported a town into my scenario. It was glorious, I was finally going to activate one of the movies. As with all things, pain was immediate and overwhelming. I discovered that there are steps to take when importing a town. 0. Back up your work. 1. Add a new town to the existing scenario. 2. Switch so you are editing the new town. 3. Import the correct town (not zone) from the correct scenario, making sure the existing blank town is the same size as the town being imported. 4. Cross fingers. I will have to start again. Edit - It should be noted that it is exceedingly important to begin all BoA lists with a 0. This has gone downhill more rapidly than the dutch luge team. For various explanations of anime style emoticons, and for recognition of the same, check out this place. User #6056 received a 1 star rating from me. It turns out we are in a long standing predator-prey relationship and I couldn't support that member. Edit - Each subsequent rating receives less weight than all previous ratings. By way of example, Karin.exe began with a 1 star rating from 1 rating that ticked me off, so I rated her a 5. Her new rating was 2 star, where it will remain for a long, long, long time. Well, the important thing is to forget the feelings of Nico and Alorael and concentrate instead on the points. 1. They are very nice points, 2. they seem to be many, 3. and with luck they will multiply. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

It's as likely that the answers are found in Asimov or Pohl. There probably won't be school, but instead education centers. Pay your bucks and get implanted with the knowledge you need. Indeed, the rich will get richer. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

I remember asking this same question back in May. I've tried porting some scenarios, but the biggest bugaboo so far has been not caring about the plot when I saw how crappy it was. I tried making the plot better, and then tried starting fresh, and then gave it up. It may be easier if you can play the BoE version. Maybe. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

And when we talk about inconveniences, we mean toilet paper. Running water. Warmth in the winter. At one point the nobles had to burn peasants just so they could keep warm. You ask how cold it really was? Well, the peasants weren't complaining. That's cold. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

why my signature? Dunno really, it just sort of happened when G3 arose and the tech forum went nuts. A lot of Gatesian problems were there and I was trying to be clever. Despite failing, it became second nature to include some sort of sponsorship message, especially in light of the CoC prohibition of advertising. Having reached the milestone of 1001 posts I abandon it completely, a process begun well over 100 posts ago. It's just too much work to come up with something new for every spam, and I applaud Alorael for his ability to make it happen. -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |
