Kalinging Song took the day. First place went to the- and I'm biased in saying this- outstanding March. The Road Down took second place. Sunset Airship and Chemical Torch both took Top 25% positions in third and fourth place respectively. Other point winners were Kalinging's other two entrants, Dahak's variants on Perfect Forest and Frahhamn's tree. Thanks to the entrants and judges! (And apologies for the delay- 'Twas a continuing rush to complete Canopy that got me this time.) -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Derived characteristics are untouched by item-gained stats. For instance, a priest wearing BS's antimagic necklace still has high rune reading. Honestly, it's basically +10% Lifesaver with other added bonuses. If you think that cheating death ain't as good as elemental resistance... :P -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

You don't need a comma before conjunctions in English. Example: Weisst du, wenn es käse gibt? Would translate as... Do you know if there is cheese? Notice- no comma. (It's odd doing it from the other way as well.) -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

I'm not sure that I was arguing for/against porting- I was just putting information out. (Honestly, I wouldn't be entirely adverse to a simple, low-bandwidth JS site to do my dirty work.) On the other side of the coin, though, most big-name designers from the BoE era are gone or inactive. So people on both platforms will probably need tools to get them started, since so few experienced people are around. (Not that BoE was any better, but I'd like to think that we could start better this time.) -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Cable for me costs 50$ per month. It's not a lot, considering how much I abuse it- the amount of anime I pirate (200mb per episode, roughly) is totally obscene, which reduces my browsing speed to that of middle-range dialup. But hell, I ain't complaining. -------------------- 私のバラドですそしてころしたいいらればころす Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

The current designers are myself, Stareye, Khoth, Eldiran and Westra. All of 'em are Mac users. And from the looks of it, this trend don't look like it's gonna be stoppin'. -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Honestly, I think sometimes it's better to dress more "conservatively" if you're endowed enough that everything is clearly visible in spite of your attire. Well, that's not to insult the less-endowed gal wearing a tanktop, but the super-endowed girl who wears the turtleneck speaks of something powerful as well. -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

http://www.geocities.com/blyceum/Olympia/BoA_gfx_comp/floors/ Dahak took first, but Luz squeezed by with both of the other places. (Splash screens will be done tomorrow- my connection is iffy tonight, and geocities is being a total bitch to load. Espect it t'morrow now, y'hear?) -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Your template isn't correct, though Jeff uses a partial wallset in DwtD, and I've also tried custom ones- they work just fine. Just check some of the ones that come with the game using ResEdit. -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

All, um, 6 of 'em? If Martin Heidegger weren't on the list, I'd also make a rule about having to read 'em all. And then I'd make a lyric line for Foulcault. -------------------- 私のバラドですそしてころしたいいらればころす Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Except with communism, you would always be protected by way of the coersion- taxes would be collected for all that you owned, but only insomuch as it payed for your housing, health care, education, sustenance, et cetera. So it's not like "capitalism" at all, since it provides everyone with a safety net whereas its antipathy would see fit to let everyone else die. Even if there's some degree of "corruption," there will be a safety net to keep you alive rather than a hollow notion of self-improvement whose death was unannounced for centuries. And hell, both the twisted version of "communism" and its "capitalist" counterpart both see fit to tear away civil liberties left and right, so I'm not entirely sure anymore that it was a good thing that we "won" the cold war after all.
