Quick question about a game (AoE II) in General | |

AoE 2 is a good game partly because it actually works on this computer and partly because it's just fun. I think the sound tracks for AoK and AoC are different, but the Gold Edition comes with a AoK CD, just like you would get if you bought it separate. The same goes for AoC. Therefore, if you want the AoK sound track, use the AoK disc. Otherwise, use the AoC disc. However, I like the expansion better because of the extra units, building, queued farms (a big improvement), and just overall better gameplay. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

The surface is on the north side of the big cavern in Fort Emergence, past the lava. Find out what's there for yourself. Also, there is an independent forum for Exile Trilogy discussion. This is just pseudo-Misc. :P [ Saturday, May 14, 2005 14:09: Message edited by: N00BEN ] -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I didn't read your post, just because it was tl, dr, as we call it here. While there are a few coders on the forum, they're usually busy on something, like Djur and Pyg (which he is still working on, right). Do you plan to stay here for any length of time and just hang out? :D -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Notice that if that is signature theft, I do it with every post on the top line of my sig. The format for Alo signature theft is: -[insert violator's name], who [insert something that this person thinks, feels, or otherwise has to say about themselves]. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

quote:Would you rather I say a few other four-letter words? I can think of a few. However, I think the CoC says no swearing, so I only say what I don't consider swearing, such as "crap" and "sucks," but there are many other words I can think of. Would you be disappointed if you had to sit around on your butt instead of fighting the people that were picking on your little brothers? But no, I don't get to and won't for around two weeks! Two [insert a questionable CoC violation here] weeks of no fighting, no running, and no doing anything but sitting in a chair. I'm not even able to clean my room, and for once in my life, I want to! That's just stupid. Ooooh, you had some TEETH taken out, so you can't run around. I mean, what do teeth have to do with running and stuff? I can understand fighting---with being punched in the mouth and all---but running has nothing to do with it. Oh, and thanks for the sympathy on the teeth. I'm finally able to watch the Alien and Predator series. So how are my periods and exclamation marks doing? I hope they're better. ------------------------------------------- Which they are. However, I still found your post a little more difficult to read that it could have been. Compare your post original with my "proofread edition" (which is not necessarily perfect either). However, just tell me which is easier to read and comprehend. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Yeah, that there might be pushing the record for the longest first post, expecially without cut-and-paste. :P My game programming is pretty much limited to tic-tac-toe at the moment, but may I offer you a relevant link: http://cplus.about.com/od/beginnerctutorial/l/blcplustut.htm. If you were to read up on your programming and make the game yourself eventually when you can make money off of it instead of the programmer making money off you for stealing your ideas. Really, though, if I was a programmer skilled enough to make your game, it would take a_long_time. Besides that, I'd like to program based on what I want instead of what somebody else wants. No offense, but that's about it. But hold onto your ideas; you may find some good use for them sometime. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Yep, don't mind Alorael. He's extremely shy and rarely ever gathers up enough wits to post. Look at his post count if you want proof. Oh, and hi, I'm ben. Hmmm, that's weird, but we still refer to "Orange soda" as orange soda and not orange pop, since someone mentioned it. However, getting some orange soda is still getting a pop. There's always an exception to everything, it seems. I've been killed a few times in dreams. :P I find, though, that sometimes you like a dream except for one certain detail. So you semi-consciously try to change that detail, but it just_won't_change. Anyone ever had that happen? -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

"Soft drink" is the politically correct term for what you get at McDonalds if you don't like water. Soda is what you pour on your car battery terminals to clean them off. Pop can be music, but in the right context, it refers to a carbonated beverage that comes in many brands, mostly from two companies, and is dearly loved by many Americans. Alo must have this thing programed to start his last paragraph with "-Alorael, who," but for some reason, it didn't work. :P -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

NightWatch by Terence Dickinson. But if you don't like astronomy, you can try a book by Brian Jacques. There's a whole bunch, but if you read them all, the do seem to get generic, however. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

...Ooh, different names for the same beverage. :D We could have a debate over whether to call this "flavored carbonated water" pop, soda, cola, or some other such thing, because in Montana, it's pop. Ooh, yikes, you guys are right! Division by 0. That's what causes all those goofy numbers too. Thanks a lot; I'll try to fix that. Khoth, I was just initializing all the member variables in the default contructor in the initialization phase instead of the body. Altervatively, I could have written Aha, I changed the setAverage function to: It works with just the right expected output too! Thanks everyone! :) :) :) [ Wednesday, May 11, 2005 13:30: Message edited by: N00BEN ] -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
