I believe you want GraphicAdjuster, made by our very own Niemand. Alternatively, there is the old Classic app ResEdit, but Niemand's app runs native in OS X. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

Yes, they definitely can be set to things like that. However, there's a few things that need to be fixed... Each numeric variable needs to have 'short' before it. Also, when defining a variable, you just use one '='. The symbol '==' tells the game to check if, say, variable i is equal to the value of flag (4,1). EDIT: Curse you, Nioca! Jeran, you're missing the point of the RP. You can't just burn rubber across the desert, it's a major undertaking. It's a freakin' desert. So if your character is going it alone, it's more or less a death sentence. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

quote:The way it was done in A2, was that one character would be split off from the party, and the rest of the party would go absent for a while. This is still possible in Blades. However, what you can't do is make one character go absent and have, say, the other three go and do stuff. It's a shame, but it's impossible as far as we know. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

Demarkus eyed the villagers as they filed into the temple. They all had a cowed look, like they were ready to accept the trouble that had befallen them. Nowhere did Demarkus see a soul brave enough to try and do a thing. He shuddered at the prospect of journeying to Salintu alone... no, if no one else would volunteer, he would not risk his neck. Better to leave Emerald Cliff and start anew than die risking his neck for cowards. He reached into his sack and pulled out a small hinged conflagration of timber. Demarkus wrestled with it for a moment, until it finally unfolded into a stool. If he was going to wait for volunteers, he would at least let his legs rest... they ached from lugging his gear to the temple. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Huzzah, all is well with the world again. (I still think Dikiyoba should do Blades) EDIT: After reading the below post, Dikiyoba can do whatever she likes and I won't object. Yay Dikiyoba! So, testing my current Blades project, I found a fight that needed to be made easier, because you just couldn't hit the enemy in question and it hit for too much damage. I cracked open the data script, lowered the Melee Weapons skill and its Defense (theoretically solving both problems), only to find that it was still rampaging through the party's hp. I puzzled over this for about half an hour, before realizing that I had overwritten the Melee Weapons nerfing with the Defense nerfing via errant copy-pasting (people who know how stats get adjusted in Blades will understand). Two switched numbers later, and the fight worked properly. The funny part is that this was preventing me from getting to an area where I wanted to test a node that should, if working properly, kill you. :P -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Laptop died four, maybe five times on me over its total lifespan, usually taking a huge pile of work for classes or Blades with it. The Lyceum's rather incompetent and broken hosts (ezBoard) finally moved it to their new and supposedly less broken board system, Yuku. The move, of course, broke a lot of things, including a large number of posts which suddenly became "unregistered". Also, Yuku is even uglier than ezBoard, which is a serious problem. So in the end, it was the Lyceum's ungrateful hosts who killed it. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

In terms of making people appreciate the sheer volume of scenarios, I've considered re-doing this forum's header in the style of the BoE forum. Think it would make any difference? -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, March 26 2004 08:00 |

Agreed. More villagers = good. Jeran, I don't know if your character happened to save any of those strange scraps of metal, but I'm just sayin', if you held onto them until Jeran meets up with Demarkus, he could probably fashion something useful out of them. Not sure how I feel about a constantly-recycled character, but if you're going to give yourself gifts like that, might as well use them. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice.
