Demo: Iron bars, three healing herbs, graymold, three fine leathers.

Post-demo: 20 wine, 4 gremlin wine, 20 sacks of meal, a pipe, some shackles, mortar and pestle, pincers, tongs, hammer, some fine steel.

Also keep all fine leathers, fine steel, focusing crystals, and herbs. There are a few other things to hold on to, but most are more apparent (things like icy geodes, chitrach claws, glowing basalt, and swamp nodules).

I appreciate all the help I've received on FAQs, but I've found that well over half of all FAQs that get started are never completed. That's not to discourage you, but more an acknowledgement that writing a FAQ is hard (and often thankless) work. That said, it's not too bad to go ahead and write up a FAQ especially if you have a new view of things. I've written FAQs for games which already had guides simply because the guides were insufficient. Although I do try to make my FAQs very thorough, there will be things I miss.

Check Dharmon for level 1 & 2 spells. Otherwise, go find Boutell's anvil and speak with the priest at the tower of the magi.

Divine warrior 3 is a reward for slaying Grah-Hoth, so you won't be getting that spell till later. I can't recall at the moment where sanctuary 3 is.

A3 singleton questions in The Avernum Trilogy

Good luck! I played A3 as a doubly-cursed singleton once long ago, and found it enjoyable.

In A2, the nephil definitely has invisble bonuses to bows and dexterity. As a result, they also have bonuses to tool use.

You will eventually find items that provide bonuses to your rune reading abilities, like the knowledge charm (+5?). If you add a few points to vahnatai lore, you may further augment your rune reading (or maybe that's item lore?), so that's something to think about.

Both +int bonuses do affect rune reading, though the bonus doesn't show up on the character page.

Tool use is going to be necessary since you don't have unlock. I would suppose you should get ~15-20 points in tool use to make sure you can get past most doors. Also, you probably shouldn't neglect potion-making, as you can really help yourself out with a few knowledge brews, after a modest investment in skill points. Up to you, though, as the game will be more difficult (but maybe more fun) without the knowledge brew recipe.

The undead ruins is waaaay back near the beginning of the game, Fort Draco area. It's the same place as the Nephil fort in Avernum 1. Head south across the river from Fort Draco, and use move mountains on a wall to the west. A demon waits for you with the key.

At the purification plant, enter from the south. Go west to talk with servant mind and have him open the doors for you.

With the creator's hall, make sure you have the quest from Lord Rahul to destroy the source of the rogues. That should help you enter the building.

GF1 & GF3 HELP!!! in Geneforge Series

You can explore areas even when they aren't cleared- you just have to make it to the zone where you can reach the next area on the map.

The west workshop is very tough to clear- you have to meet some very specific requirements (not have a control baton, collect one in the workshop, or something like that). Clearing it doesn't really matter, since it's a dead end anyway.

Darkstone core is also a dead end, so clearing it doesn't do much either. You may not have completely explored Darkstone core yet. You may have to kill the beasts to the west, or the tough golem to the SW.

Can you be more specific about not being able to enter the Creator's hall or the purification plant?

I feel GF4 should definitely not focus around a young, untrained apprentice who is surprised by rebellious serviles, rogues, or canisters. That shtick was OK for GF and GF2, but GF3 it was kind of old.

Personally, a system like Nethergate could be quite interesting- provide two sides of a story from the get-go, instead of having the whole "choose your own adventure" plot.

Try to make your question more legible- I couldn't figure out what you were trying to ask.

Click on the machines located at the perimeter of the creator. One is broken, to the SE. If you fix it, it will heal the creator.

I think you'll be OK if you have a lab of your own at home, but you're probably best off sticking with more safe compounds, as Lt. Sullust suggests.

Where will you get your chemicals? If you're just getting them from a hardware store, you probably won't do as much damage as you could if you have access to a retail chemical supplier. You can still kill yourself, but only if you try or are very negligent.
