Need help with dialogue. in Blades of Avernum Editor

Well I have begun working on my scenario, for the most part its great, I have 2 towns and a cave so far, but when it comes to dialogue I have problems. I know it has to do with my incompetence though so I ask you for the answer. I have written out dialogue scripts already and did most everything else but whenever I play my scenario and I enter the town it always says, "ericdlg ERROR: bad header.." Do I have to change the name of the document or what.

Oh and instead of making a new topic for this, where in the world is the graphic for the boat, I looked through the selection tons of times but I can't find it.

Player Characters in Blades of Avernum

Well as in all the Avernum games I play my party consists of a bulked up human warrior which has tons of hardiness, strength, dexterity, and endurance along with sword weaponry. Second is my Nephil Archer with decent melee ability tons of archer but no thrown weapon training and lots of tool use(skill is at 30 at the moment). Third is my human Priest which is Divinely Touched and has lots of alchemy and nature lore. Last is my mage with all of the normal Mage having stuff. This has allowed me to beat everything I have done in Avernum quite easier then any other make-up of a group.

Okayyyy well in my idiocy I didn't realize the big gap of non mapped area in the middle, I usually stick to the sides when I venture and I was in a rush so I probably didn't have automap up in that section.

By Citadel I meant Morogs Castle. While on this subject, why is it that when you go through all those defenses and stuff there is nothing in that one chest that holds her greatest treasures and what-not. Nothing came up before and after I killed her.

Morog and the Wurm Pit in Za Khazi Run in Blades of Avernum

Okay well I already finished the level but in 19 days so I really didn't complete it that well. On the way through I got puzzled on a few things like the Wurm Pit. I killed everything in it and found this idol thingy. It says I am overcome with grief and stuff when I try to leave though. I already found the pool that makes you feel like nothing can hurt you and you aren't afraid but it doesn't help. Are you even supposed to be able to keep the item or is it just.. there.

Now for the Morog thing. I'm pretty sure its something I just somehow completely missed but I just can't find it. After beating the game I have come up here again. I got the Melora Opal and killed most everything in the region. I also know the word to get past the undead. But where is her Citadel located.

Help please, thanks.

Okay sorry nevermind this after messin with the files and moving them from folder to folder I finally got it right and the game works again. Just delete this topic.

Where to find new spells? in Blades of Avernum

Yea the only new spells I could find were those taught by the priest in Marallis and Axel in Sweetgrove. Other then that I found pretty much every spell that I already knew in the School of Magery. You don't get any good new spells until the next scenarios.

Blades of Avernum HELP in Tech Support

Okay well I got the registered version of BoA. Its great and I just started to play a Small Rebellion but today when I tried to play it the game went all screwy. Right when the game was about to start a warning came up saying, There was an error when trying to load graphic 3001 please exit and restart this game so I did but it never worked. After that warning comes up(everything behind it is black but I can still hear the music) I press buttons till I get to teh menu screen. The startup screen pops up that shows I have never played this game before. I look down and it says I am unregeistered and the original code is different. I don't know what to do. :confused: :confused: :confused:

The augmented pants are probably the pants of power, which I'm guessing is on the same level as the journal you read it in the bottom right corner. You have to walk through a wall to get to the big closet thing holding it. Not so sure about the acid thing, perhaps they are talking about the wand.

I was thinking that maybe you could possibly control the entire group but only for certain areas. Like all 3 types of characters come in at the beginning of the level and you split up. You would then control each one at a time on their different paths. For example you would control the Agent along her entire path until she gets to a certain spot or gets stuck, you could then move onto your guardian or shaper, and they would all come together at one spot for a big battle, give each other items which would benefit the others best, talk about stuff they found and split up again. This would give the game an aspect of a further advanced level of team work and even some degree of puzzle making.

I would have to say Avernum 3 is my favorite game, Geneforge 2 being a close second.

As for the Blizzard games that have been brought up a few times i liked Diablo 2.

I am not sure if this has been asked already but are archers still semi-important in BoA. Do they do more damage or is it cut down like I heard the magic was.
Please help a Windows user out.

Hmm well I got another idea for Geneforge 3. Here is another way to make a new line of creations. Have the ability to meld 2 or 3 monsters of different types together to make a new one. Of course this could result in a large amount of combinations but try to make them so that if the creations were combined it would make sense. The only Shapers that can do this are the ones that have used the new Geneforge(for more complicated monsters) or used a multitude of canisters that give the ability. This would mean the Geneforge would need to be used by you and not just Drakons.

Note: If it is a completely retarded and stupid, useless idea then ignore it. But if you think it could work build upon it and add things that could make it better.

This is an old topic and what I am about to post doesn't really relate to it but are there any new food types, junk food, for example. I would love to feed my adventurers doritoes, brownies, and twinkies.

Karzoth I don't mean to say that I want every enemy you encounter in the outdoors to be set up in a perfect manner. Just a few large major battles that you may run into near the end of a game. Like say you are trying to take over a for and there is a set group there. Could you have set formations for them. Although you are right it isn't that important I just think it would add a tiny bit more of a reality bit to it and it would look kinda cool too.

Of course I could just have them set up like that in like in a cave or castle of some sort, too. O well :rolleyes:

Heres an idea that doesn't relate to the topic much. But how about you can fight army like people and have them lined up in rows like actual armies in the past. Have some sort of riders in the front, melee men behind them, archers behind them, and the spellcasters last. Having some sort of organized fighting sequence unlike Avernum games where the enemies are completely scattered.

Would it be possible to put enemy soldiers on horses so that you don't only have to buy them but you can kill people for them as well. Of course it would be rare to find them or the soldiers would be really strong. I was just wondering if it was done or can be done.
