How about a creation that swallows you up and then spits you out to the next Island.

Funning with helms in Blades of Avernum Editor

I wonder if a helm could be modified to act as a permanant light source, only negated when entering a magical deep darkness area. Helm of light, or helm of vision. bonus to bows skill?

I havent played in a bit, doing other things,
but in DwtD, I thought the guy who sold the pricy master things had an item that allowed flight, or was it a feather fall like effect.

Idea: think there was something like this.
(a ring in A3)
a special staff for mages/priests only.
Regenerates X number of spell points per turn.

After going throught the DwtD I was surprised to see the ?Grifon? that was in the prison cell, waiting for the terrible things to be done to it.
the presence of this creature makes me wonder if a scenario has been, or will be, made that has a colony of these creatures that are part of the story. Example being, you are hired by the empire/avernum to find the colony and depending on which side your on you attack or defend these new friends/foes.
And lets not forget the lovely treasure you get reguardless.

Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban seems a possiblity too.

Thank you for the sugestion, I installed onto a different drive, and copied the vally.bas file in.
then used clean sweep to remove the new install.
reg code is unchanged.
The map is back.

A small problem(s). in Tech Support

While waiting for the key to be sent to me, I have tried a few things with the editor.
Now after everytime I start the VoDT, the map in with the supplies left so generously for the party, seems to have been changed into a Question mark ?.
I have the scenario editor and may have done something Unknowingly. Stupid me.
How is this to be corrected.

Isn't the empire having hostile relations with one of the tribes of Vahnatai because they suffered a setback in A3?

A thought I had a while ago while playing another game call "Arcanum, of Steamworks & Magick Obscura."
In this game you can make your own weapons, armor, and tools, from component parts after learning the how to.
I wonder if the shaping skills could be used in a similar way. and make use of all those sticks, stones, and severed limbs we find everywhere.

Ooh spiders, so loveable, I wonder what it be like to have spiders added to Geneforge as a creation to tinker with. perhaps like a Drider. oh wait those are copyrighted...yes?

like portal to the ancients idea. however it is a toss up between being the first or last thru the portal.

Yes for me, I find myself developing a story that harkens way back to G1. story is of an apprentice to the shaper Danette. this apprentice (Me), after using a few canisters, uses one that was a bad mix. instead of giving the ablity to stop time it renders me forever young or my ageing process stopped. and so before the big kick off by the council, my master orders me into a hiddy hole and not to come out untill I've solved the problem of the canister maddness.
(why there were canisters all over he island?)

needless to say, this could develop into a longer post but I'll leave this at that, and wait to see what a response it receives.

I'll been playing G1, and G2, plus the avernum series, and in a word, Fun.

My take on the mysterious locked door is to ask this question?

When the takers discovered the cure for the servile disease, did they happen to try modifing it and see how bad it could get?
Like in "The Stand" by Stephen King.

or even better (for the takers) make it targeted towards shapers, and create a creation to be host and grim reaper of all Shapers?
