I've always had problems with it. A while ago someone gave me a patch to download which fixed it, but it hasn't been working for a couple of weeks now. Restarting doesn't work, I've tried changing the compatibility to Win95, 98 and 2000, and nothing works...
What's this de-frag thing? I'm really not good with PCs!

I still get the same message. I don't think my Blades file is corrupt, I think there's something wrong with my PC which makes it not like the Exile files.

Blades of Exile problem in Tech Support

I decided to start playing BoE again, but when I try to open it I get an application error message saying "BLADES caused an illegal instruction fault in BLADES.EXE at 0x00000024. Click CLOSE to terminate etc..."

I tried to uninstall it to see if reinstalling would work, but when I click the uninstall button I get "UNIN16 caused an illegal instruction fault in IUN1401 at 0x00000024 etc..."

If anyone can help I'd be grateful if you do it in language intended for 5 year olds as I'm crap with any technology stuff!!!
Thanks a lot.

BTW am using Windows XP.

I'm pretty sure there's a specific button to make the Anama friendly again which is seperate from the generic "make towns friendly" button.

Notye but Neyse would you have to register the editor for that? I only have the free extras.

I think it's a bug. Generally you can only augment non-magical/non-augmented weapons.

Intelligence is to do with Mage/Priest skills, the higher it is, the more damage your spells will do.
Strength determines how hard you hit, and in E3, how much weight you can carry.
Dexterity helps you hit things, it also helps with using 2 weapons and disarming traps/lock picking.

Wander in and out of the trog caves to fight them and gain experience.
Go and do the quests in Upper Exile if you haven't already.
Explore the wastelands North of Storm Port and fight all the random monsters - also search any towers you may come across...
Try the Ursag mission in Golddale.

However, the entire game relies on you being able to beat him, and anyone who failed would just reload and try again, so there's not much point making him too difficult to beat.
And re the runes etc... maybe he just couldn't be bothered with fighting all the millions of adventurers, giant lizards and anything else that would just wander in if the defences weren't there.

Just remember that Pachtar's Plate has a lot of encumbrance, so it's not worth using on mages.
