I use the term "song" loosely. Patrice Deceuninck: "Into the Hands of Orcs" Beethoven: Symphony #5 Fritz Kreisler: Concerto for violin, andante doloroso Dvorak: Symphony #9 "From the New World" Vivaldi: Four Seasons Handel: Music for the Royal Fireworks Ralph Vaughan Williams: "The Lark Ascending" Telemann: A lot. But a recorder sonata in C major in particular. Rameau: Symphonie Imaginaire Bach: The Brandenburg Concertos. All of them. Mozart: Symphony #40 Paul Simon: "The Boy in the Bubble" [Edit: I'm indecisive and I can't count to ten.] —Alorael, who will admit to tacking on Paul Simon only so that his list includes vocals and something that isn't classical or pseudo-classical. Variety is good. [ Thursday, July 06, 2006 18:52: Message edited by: Zombie Fillet Mignon ] Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I change my publically displayed name daily and have done so for two years. It started as a protest of the fact that I reached 10,000 posts without a custom title. Now it just matches my stylish signature. —Alorael, who is a walking, talking gimmick and likes it that way. Others disagree, as is their right. He can editorialize about it in his signature better than they can, though! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I don't think you can cheat Almaria into submission. It's more complicated than just friendly folks who got mad at you, and the cheat doesn't mess with SDFs. —Alorael, who can think of only one thing worth worry about missing in Almaria. It's not important, but the priest does give out nice rewards if you show him Demonslayer. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Avernum doesn't have character classes, so a new one would be quite a trick. —Alorael, who doesn't want them, either, thank you very much. Geneforge is already more classy than he likes. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

If Jeff made games to please you he'd have no customers left and you'd still be grumbling, TM. —Alorael, who doesn't mean to say that Jeff is above criticism. He just means to say that TM doesn't criticize when he can lambast. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Ooh, I like the Alorael bot theory! And let's be fair. The third person thing only happens in the signature. I'm not crazy or anything, and you can keep your opinions and disagreements to yourself, thank you very much. —Alorael, who is not and never has been a BoE mod. He did check, though, because Drakey thinks it's funny to assign bizarre moderation (Galactic Core) without any notification. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

If the door to the third trial shows you a map, you missed the second trial. If it doesn't open at all you may be looking in the wrong place. —Alorael, who definitely remembers it being in the northern part of the chitrach caves. And there aren't many doors down there. Even with all the reasonable causes of order change, melee weapons do seem to go before polearms. And when all else is equal, the character who comes first in party order goes first. —Alorael, who is assuming along with everyone else that your problem is combat order and not actual rearrangement of your party. The comment about items makes it sound a little bit like equipment is moving characters around! Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Be fair to Mr. Clinton. He had no affairs with anyone wielding significant political power. Marriage, yes. Affairs, no. The Bible has all kinds of rules and regulations. We gleefully ignore most of them. Especially the OT ones. —Alorael, who enjoys his bacon on Yom Kippur and his pork barrels (in any sense you'd like, Thuryl) any time. Well, not really, but it makes a good story. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

The hint book should be a self-contained application that requires a registration code to get more than the hints for the demo area. —Alorael, who might as well say up front that he is being facetious. That could be because there really aren't any good emulators for OS X. Actually, as best I can tell, emulation stops being really functional when it's working on things from the last decade, roughly. —Alorael, who had to do some fiddling to get Carbonized applications to run natively in OS X when he switched over from OS 9 only a year ago. Get info and see what you can change anything. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Don't be silly. Sex is okay as long as you're married, it's intended for procreation only, and you have no fun at all. Actually, that might explain a few things about life on Capitol Hill —Alorael, who thinks the world might be a better place if politics were bred out of the gene pool. You could always print out a PDF. —Alorael, who doesn't think you have to order the game on CD to get the hintbook. At this point I really have to point out that this topic is about difficulty, not how much you like A4. Just sayin'. It's not really very difficult at all if you are willing to use all the little fun tricks and suchlike, but it's a challenge if you just go in swinging on Torment. I suppose there's a lesson there. Instead of making the game harder, Jeff made enemies require a modicum of thought. It worked well. —Alorael, who knows that at least a few A4 job boards get new quests once you've done a few of the quests originally there or met other criteria. There isn't an endless supply of jobs, though, because unlike A3's job boards they're not randomly generated. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Fornication is a general offense in which two individuals not married to each other engage in intercourse. Adultery is a subcategory of fornication, specifically sex in which at least one of the participants is married to a third party. There is no inherent difference between homosexual fornication or adultery and heterosexual fornication or adultery unless you presuppose the impossibility of same sex marriage. So I've really reiterated what Thuryl said and made clear that adultery is under fornication, not vice versa. If fornication or adultery are the problems, you'd think same sex marriage would be encouraged! It's not as though all these sinful gays are refusing to go to the altar. —Alorael, who wonders how long it will be before some conservative legislator tries to make pre- or extra-marital sex illegal. No, make that unconstitutional. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Hardiness does virtually nothing. Don't rely on it. Taking less damage is the job of armor and armor only; your stats are for not getting hit at all. Dexterity, Defense, Parry, and Gymnastics should be your defensive skills of choice. —Alorael, who never had much trouble with ordinary rats. There are a few tougher rats, but they're usually rare enough when you're low level that you can fry them magically. By the time you meet them in hordes you should have sufficient armor and health to go toe to toe with rats. That sounds strangely humiliating, but when rats are stronger than human soldiers, what can you do? Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
