Let us leave the other stuff to the imagination. I must say though, I'm all for gun control, but to an extent. Guns should NOT be banned altogether, but tighter restrictions, should be enforced. A recent gun ban, was enforced in England (I think), and crime ROSE. Primarily, in burglaries, robberies and muggings, because the criminals knew, that the good citizens didn't have any serious weapons on them. I'm getting a bit off topic here, sorry. The Slithzerakai don't like humans because they have invaded "their lands". Nephilim don't like humans because humans were the ones who sent them to their icy cold doom in Exile in the first place. The Vahnatai don't like humans/The Empire because they stole their Crystal Souls. The Empire doesn't like Exiles because they killed Hawthorne. Let's say you are the passenger of a car that is being driven down a barren highway, that has absolutely no traffic. Something happens that causes you to get into a wreck. You survive, and can get out of the car, but the driver can't. The driver is the person you love the most out of everyone you know. They are trapped in the mangled car and cannot get out by any means availble to you. The wrecked car starts on fire while the loved one is still in it, and you have a gun that is loaded with one bullet. You don't have a cell phone, and it would take hours for help to get there anyway. Who do you kill? Do you shoot the loved one, so they don't have to suffer being burned alive, or do you shoot yourself, so you don't have to witness their death?
