He does it because the CDs are non-recyclable. It's a petition, of sorts; all the discs are from people who want AOL to stop polluting the environment. They apparently send out about ten thousand CDs a day, just to residences. More to businesses.

It's all pretty pointless, if you ask me.

There's a guy you can send all your CDs to who scratches them all up really badly and sends them back to AOL.

First, I get your signature. My own is intended to be te same sort of warped irony. It is NOT a generalization. Second, I meant the smug graemlin for my own remark.
I have found, in my posting, more and more occasion to insert one. Does this tell you something about me?

And you did not say that college and real-world experience were more valuable than tests in school, AS. You said that people who had gone through college and had more real-world experience would probably be considered smarter than yourself in many areas. I did not realize that you concurred with that belief. Apologies.

The above comment disturbs me.
Good marks do not the intelligent person make. (I really think there should be a 'smug' graemlin).

When in high school, I had hangups about marks. I thought I was a genius because of my straight nineties. Then I went to university and discovered that I knew practically nothing that was actually worth knowing and that my general knowledge and vocabulary were about nil.To get good marks all you really need to have is a good memory, which, IMO, certainly does not indicate ntelligence.

Compared to the frequent posters on these boards, I rated myself below average.

Well no, actually, I think wychwenthal's perfectly right. I'd say exactly the same bloody thing if I thought it would make a difference, but I don't, so instead I'll offer my condolences to Izzannor.
My grandmother died last year, and if anybody said something to me which remotely resembled what Ed said, I'd feel so completely depressed, to realise that even during a time of grief some bastard would have the heartlessness to come along and... I'll stop now.

I'm sorry, Izzanor. It's extremely sad when somebody close to you passes away.

EDIT: Also, considering the last couple of weeks here on Spiderweb, I must say that the first line of your sig is funny as hell.

I've never registered the Avernums, but as far as I know, Doston is never mentioned through out the Exile trilogy. If you're trying to compile only Vogel-created matter, don't include Doston.

The Empire, blessed power over us all, controls the four known continents. Aizo
[NB: not Aixo], the oldest, is the birthplace of the Empire although the ruling seat is now on the continent of Pralgad [NB: na na na boo boo!].

Vantanas is the smallest continent, but in many ways the richest, with its hot climate, fascinating fauna, and rich stores of gold and diamonds. And finally, there is the recently settled Valorim, which has a wild (though controlled) spirit.

Yeah - I mean, I'm pretty ignorant of lots of political history, stuff I should definitely do more reading on, but then I stay away from political discussions. This is my advice; before you make a point, even open your mouth (or in this case, before you hit the post button), I suggest you read up on the subject if you aren't in a position where you'd know quite a bit about the issue at hand. Otherwise, you'll look like a ranting imbecile who doesn't know what he''s talking about. Scratch that, you'll be a ranting imbecile who doesn't know what he's talking about. Especially when you refuse to listen to whatever the people you're talking to have to say. And especially when you're trampling on the commonly known facts people are presenting to nullify your 'arguments'. JF, you're a true american, I have to say that for you.

Also, just how much do you know about Canada, Italy, Spain, and Great Britain? I'm curious to know just what makes the European countries 'cooler' than Canada. In terms of government, I'd much rather have Chretien as a prime minister than Blair.
Yeah, and I admit that my country is full of mediocre, uneducated, beer-drinking hosers, but other countries have their own illiterate hick types.

To the point, I basically posted this to get an avatar. Are Guatemala and, of course, Mexico taken?

"I? I am being rude?" Moppet dropped the pocket watch in anger, and Scipio became dehypnoyized.
"You, sir, are the rude one. We come all this way, from across the Dusty Plain, through the Dark Forest, over the Shark-filled Ocean, and you, you sir, are all... all... MELLOW!"
He was becoming rather purple by now.
"We were expecting adventure. It is your duty, sir, to provide us with a Twisting Maze, a Locked Door Puzzle, a Crypt of Ghouls! A Secret Passage Containing Quickfire, a Concealed, Trapped Treasure Room, a Dragon Lord, A Sword Which is the Dragon Lord's Bane, A Mischevious Gremlin Who Makes Up Fiendishly Mind-Twisting Riddles! All that and... and... a goblin cave in which to gain experience!
And then we have to fight you. And kill you, of course." He added matter-of-factly.

Everyone was staring at Moppet.

"I am sorry," began Nicky softly. "but I'M ABOUT TO DIE HERE! And not at the hands of you adventurers, either!"
