I don't get to ban people. But maybe I can stealth-edit your posts to contain lewd pictures and links to key generators and then tell Stareye.

What? I mean, it's standard proced--- whoops, said too much.

Drupal. Ain't I predictable? :P

But seriously, it's an extremely convenient tool for publishing stories - I used it on my Nanowrimo site as well. Clean-looking, flexible URLs, hierarchies for books/chapters/scenes, etc.

And technically free, if .ermarian.net sounds any good. :D

Seriously, changing is great. Aran used to spam like nobody's business, and even used "lol" in a post (the horror!). He was a pox. We even considered moving just to get rid of him. But now he doesn't spam (as much). And he deletes the "lol". And he doesn't mention that he was a terrible poster after every post, either.
Ahem!

There are conservatives outside America. It's just that relative to America's conservatives, the most rabid conservative outside America is a flaming communist.

My parents rant about China taking over the global economy and Turkey joining the EU and daycares getting more public spending, but they still believe Bush is a moron. :P

In other news, Demopedia started back in October or November 2004. But it was not terribly successful, and I don't see how its counterpart would fare differently: A field whose basic concept is to make people think what you want them to think has no business starting up a repository of knowledge.

Once you get beyond the basic entries ("George Bush": "A raging idiot"/"Christ reborn", "Hillary Clinton": "A lying ***"/"Savior of mankind", etc.) a partisan encyclopedic project pretty much loses its momentum.

Edit: DU is a dotcom, not a dotorg.

As I recently found out, mods can change the board headers. (Yes, go ahead and laugh, I know that there is a famous historical precedent of this happening. :P )

So whoever mods the BoA forum can fix the link too.

But it just wouldn't sell as well. The addictive, statistic-increasing, time-eating quality isn't the problem with these games. It's the point. "

He said that, but it's not true! This is not the point of an RPG! The point of an RPG is an expansive, realistic world and story that the player is immersed in (hence the term "roleplaying").

However, it is the point of most MMORPGS (which charge by time played, not by copy purchased, and therefore need to occupy even players with a short attention span).

You know, I was going to lock and link to the other thread this was posted in, but given that the other topic is hardly a page long, beyond the first page, and clearly dead, that'd be extremely useless.

So go on.

But it does so with all the authoritative tone a millennia-old, repetitively translated and interpreted text of mysterious origin can muster.

The Communist Manifesto may be less ambiguous, but it sure doesn't command as much respect. :P

Discounting, of course, the risk of a melt-down.

Who worries about the radiation from a properly functioning power plant? Even without statistics to prove it, I'd tend to trust those responsible for the shielding regulations that the normal radiation levels are harmless. It's the accidents that are dangerous.

Um, Blake81 is offering, in a public forum, to get his "friend" to pirate games. Sure, he's making the offer to someone who owns the game, but it is a public offer.

Not my call, but I'd edit or lock and move to the mod board.

Avernum's Better in The Avernum Trilogy

Where is the cave that the cutscene shows?
Edit -sorry for the off topicness, but I had to ask this.

That cave is actually an easter egg. I think it's somewhere in the northwest of Valorim, near the coast of Footracer province. If you enter it exactly on a day that is a multiple of 11 wearing only Vahnatai cloaks and carrying only sticks as weapons, you can battle Undead Emperor Hawthorne. Beat him, and you win the Xian Skull. Betcha didn't know that one existed in Exile, eh?

[Sorry, I got carried away.]

---

I feel nostalgic very often, and I prefer Exile for their nice atmosphere. But the Avernums had the advantage of being second attempts, and got smoother both in terms of interface and story.

So it's sort of like Star Wars. Except Jeff didn't make Erika shoot first in Avernum 3, nor did he introduce annoying computer-animated aliens.
