I am now in there and have just come to the conclusion that ezboard remains true to its nature with its chatrooms as with its forums. But whatever works, I suppose...

Wonderful once implied a sense of wonder. Awesome was spoken only of things which truly inspired awe. Terrific once spoke of things that induced terror. Now, through popular, sloppy, dumbed down useage, they all mean the exact same insipid, vague thing "great/cool". What word do I use now when I want to describe something that is truly awesome? What adjective do I use to discuss something that is laden with fantasy elements so as to make it unbelievable?
Why not continue to use awesome and fantastic for those purposes? I do on occasion.

Prepending a superfluous "truly" (as in "truly awesome") might be bad style, but it does seem to get the point across. Few who use awesome, fantastic and terrific to mean the same thing would utter the word "truly".

Just trying to shed some light upon the situation.

You've got the mathematical symbols wrong. If Mormon = Christian, then Christian = Mormon.

You probably mean Mormon ⊂ Christian, but Christian ⊄ Mormon.

And that's all the nitpicking I'm doing today.

Edit: Being that both are sets, the "element" operator isn't entirely approriate.

The first member of this forum is probably stressed given he's Jeff Vogel and currently hard at work porting A4. :P (sorry, I know what you meant, I just felt like messing around. But he is Jeff Vogel, and that is what you wanted to know, right?)

You can search the member database at this site, by the way. It's updated monthly.

A novelty for me, and yes, yes I do.

Also, TM and Kel, please stop the mudslinging already. You're both masters, and all this fighting isn't going to change that. :P

I've been Arancaytar for an uncountable number of times since I've started changing. Perhaps there is a different cause (someone in the meantime taking a login name like this), or perhaps it only works if the original displayed name is the same as the login name (mine is).

Or perhaps UBB does this randomly, as it does with every other bug.

OOC: He didn't exactly quit, and nor did he kill you. In fact, relative to the options we discussed, he was pretty forgiving considering you tossed him around like a rag and injured him critically.

Also, like me, he is probably less annoyed at the way you handled the combat than at the text quality. When you go "Aaah" outside of dialogue, within your narrative, it's usually a sign you should... uh... calm down a little and avoid getting carried away. It's what you might call Zephyresque.

22:00 EST would be 4:00 CET for me. (Actually it will be 4:00 CET for everybody else, but that's not the point). No lectures on Thursdays, so I could possibly sleep early tonight and be awake then.

How lucid I'm going to be is another question, and in what way I will be able to contribute (since I have produced less scenarios than Drakefyre if you include works in progress) still another one.

Regarding the synopsis: Would someone object against publishing a complete log? It'd be less work, surely...

I haven't played A4, but it has to be damn good (better than A3) to reach the quality of stuff like Canopy and Bahssikava. And those are just two of the best scenarios.

I imagine that would look very... interesting. You wouldn't see the feathers, and I dare you to try and slice up a burning chunk of tar.

Unlike the alternative of drawing and quartering, then burning and then tarring and feathering, it would also ensure that he is alive for most of the process. *insert bloodthirsty grin here*

They were correct, until the board got to it. They don't like html tags, I guess.

Also, account #21 is still deleted. It was not when I originally started the database (possibly the only one that was deleted since then and is still gone).

Because only existing profiles are updated, this row is now effectively sitting as a ghost in cyberspace. I decided against deleting it and instead marked it as it is now.

I'd disagree with that last bit. While the lack of outdoors eventually made me a bit claustrophobic ("when can I finally leave?" "where's the exit?" "I want OUT!"), it was a bit of a novelty. I had to adjust my strategy - normally I walk around in the wilderness until I'm healed; here, healing and energy potions actually had a use outside of combat.

In retrospect it seems a bit Geneforge-ish, but that didn't hurt the quality I think.

Wow. I enjoyed the first one immensely (I think I posted a topic to that effect already), and I'm looking forward to this one far more than Avernum 4.

Concerning Slithzerikai language, Alec came up with some basic ideas on "Slithzerikaiis". Will you publish a complete vocabulary of your language, along with a few grammar rules? The encyclopedia is hungry... :)

Right, that's enough. You can expect a visit from us later today, Mr Bixler. We know where you live. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
