*back in the inn Kel-Aziz just woke up. Noticing that TGO and Oberisuku had left he asked the IK where the tower was, however he did not know the exact location. So Kel was forced to brake into TGO and Oberi's room with his nice array of lockpicks (his ability in this art had improved in his late years of decadence.) finding nothing but obsene magazines, empty bottles, a small bed and a huge pile of mantles. Kel: Jeess...it stinks in here, reminds me of the old barracks way back home. *Searching under some trash he found an intresting piece of paper... Kel: Mmm, what do we have here, intresting... *Sudenly he turned the paper upside down and it all made sense... Kel: Aha! A map to the tower of Babil, maybe they already memorised the way or where just to drunk to remember where they left it. *And so he quickly followed the path to the Tower of Babil, halfnaked he ran dressing up as he ran, hopefully, getting any posible treasures in that tower before them or anyone else, little he knew about shades or the powers of the demon...still, in his heart, little he cared. -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." *There was another man nearby who overheard what the bartender had to say about the Towe of Babil, his name was Kel-Aziz, a former royal guard of a forgoten empre in the suthern lands, now living in dishonor as a hired mercenary looking to regain what bit of honor he could and ofcourse some gold and fame if possible. he saw his chance... Kel-Aziz: So...now that those weirdos are gone why dont you tell me more about this tower? IK: Shure what do you need to... KA: Tell me, any treasure in there? IK: Well...they say the demon has some bounty with him but... KA: Exellent my dear friend I need to know no more. Kel went to his room smiling he new something big lied within that tower and he wanted to have a piece of that cake...he didnt know however that the demon traped in there had no intention to share. Kel had happy dreams, only disturbed by the ocacional snoring of what sounded like an ox on a room nearby... A simple idea that could be used to somehow add another unique characteristic to each scenario is maybe the option to change the opening picture of BoA to one of ones desire, I dont think that would be hard to do since I believe I can already do it using ResEdit, but the idea is to have it as an option in the Editor. :P -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." WHAT!! Simulacrum and Capture Soul eliminated!?... :( Those spells were fun, and proved very usefull many times, ever tried using and army of hasted Ur-Basilisks!! or those acid spitting slugs!...its a lethal combo, thats how i got rid of the Doomguard and many other nasty monsters, I know, its energy consuming and to some its kind of weak and cowardly to hide behind summoned minions but hey, thats the purpose of magic!! to blow stuff up and summon creatures from a safe distance...waste terror, its useless, but dont waste Simulacrum and Capture Soul. ;) A posible solution could be uniting both of these spell in one Mirror Soul Spell or something like that and fix the exesive energy consuming problem with an item like a ring of feedback that could reduce in 1/3 the energy cost of spells!! He, that occured to me to, and it was quite anoying when the items I had where listed from almost A to Z and I had to scroll all the way down to find a particular item. If they actually implement this sistem you could just store potions in one barrel, weapons in crates, clothing in dresser, etc...saves up space and time. -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." The ability to make an item run a script through a special ability, and the ability to change an items abilities through a script is a grat idea. Think of this, you could have a particular weapon clasing and bashing sound for your special weapons. For expample I could have the sword Soultormenter to sound like a wind blow or have it play at least two difrent wind blows randomly when hitting a target, or have it gain levels with each monster killed exept for magical monsters with no soul. So in the item creation options you could have strength, weight, damage, special abilities and all those basic options plus an advanced options menu containing scripts such as play sound when hit, play sound when miss, trigger special when used kinda options. BoA could also limit the number of SPECIAL items and the triggers they have to prevent weird crashed or exesive memory usage like playing absurd long sounds or long specials one after another with every hit the weapon makes. -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." I realy like that idea of being able to chose where you put your summoned creatures, like in the good old exile series. Its kind of anoying when the summoned creatures appear behind the caster in a close indoor combat. Placing the summoned creatures could require a 4th level in summoning. Also, if summoned creatures gave you experience then it should be considerably less than in normal combat because you could actually get some experience from observing combats. By the way, one idea that could be realy usefull is the capability of targeting a particular friendly unit to use spells on. One more thing, It should be allowed to slay your own summoned creatures and not make a friendly town angry...you give them life you sould have the right to take life from them. Not that I am a sadistic murderer or anything but sometimes you just need to release some anger... -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." The scry monster spell was a usefull tool for scenario desingers. It helps a lot when you try to create your monsters and want to have an idea of how powerfull/weak you wanted the monsters to be. -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." If we sould remove a spell I go for “terror“ . Its a bad spell because: 1- it doesnt work 90% of the time. You would be more likely to cast a Quickfire before you actually scared anyone. 2- The only oponent it scares most of the time are goblins and lesser monsters that you dont realy need to scare because you could just beat them down with sticks. 3- Why would you want to scare a monster anyway. You run into a dungeon scaring off monsters, who´s the monster you or the creatures running away from you? theres no fun in that. ...now spray acid in the other hand. :D -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying." If theres going to be any music, then at least have 6 difrent battle themes, i would hate to have the same music repeat on and on everytime an outdoor battle begins, like many console RPG I know. Also, it sould be diffrent with bosses. -------------------- "I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying."
