What happens with the member counter? Since the big run for 4000, it seems to be upset. Right now it welcomes Seldane as the 4001 member, but 4001 was Aran, who got 5 stars with the first post <laugh until tears come> and Seldane is actually 4009. What's going on at the multiple accounts cheating front? )) )) )) ... and congrats, People of America -------------------- site of the month: about an australian artist who is a real cyborg - supported by BURMA SHAVE Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |

When I was a child, I once ran through the garden, shouted something to my friend - and catched a big spider with my mouth. Unconsciously I chewed on it, before I noticed... eeew... No, I didn't swallow and it was the only spider ever in my mouth and I eat my salad meatless. The eatin'bugs rumour is nonsense. Scorched Earth Party is running under "Irony Central”. And mabe you did not read everything ... quote:I would not worry too much about Jeff's sense of humour. But I would worry about our real world, that is really scorched already ... ... where the population grows with the rapidity of 138 per minute ... ... where 73 species of animals or plants per day die out forever ... ... where 6% of humans own 60% of the world capital ... ... where 1,3 milliards of people have no access to drinking water ... ... where industrialized countries spend 30 times more for military expenses than aid to developing countries ... ... where 20'000 people per year become victims of landmine explosions, half of them children ... ... and so on Thus, Jeff's black humour isn't actually as far away from sad reality. -------------------- site of the month: Do not trample down the earth on which you walk. Syntyrael, you are right. God is only, because humans created him. Because humans need somebody to be responsible for their baseness. Nobody lives without a believe. Even if you make money or yourself to your God, then you believe in something, human nature is lost without a God. Or a Godess. I believe in vegetarianism, rebirth and the Church of Euthanasia -------------------- site of the month: Do not trample down the earth on which you walk. Calculate your personal footprint. ok., then it was a stupid idea - shame on me, I will slap my head ten times against the wall :o excuse my bothering ... but about annoying and unsensical things in a game: I like them. There are a few in Avernum: The obstacle trees for ex., or if you spend your last piercing Crystal, to discover just nothing in the chest behind the barrier. It's annoying but also a surprise. I enjoy to be surprised throughout the game, it's not really annoying. I think a game wold be irksome without some unsensical obstacles ... -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? So you don't find this funny, uh? Of course it's not necessary. Just to complicate the game a little bit. It's irritating, if somebody always clears away your stuff and you have to search after it. Have you never been annoyed by your mother, when she cleaned up your room and confused all? -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? I don't know, if there will be something like Hawke's mansion in BoA - if yes and if it's not too late, a little proposal: All items and stuff you bring here for later use would be removed by Marjorie. She will clean up everything behind you, thus you must search your stuff every time in all the chests and crates ... I think, it would be easy to implement, but maybe it's annoying after a while. Marjorie could also ask for a rise in wages every two month ... She's anyway a NPC, who could develop -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |

As Aarrow Swift mentioned, I would start with A1, then A2 and A3, because there is a continuous story. It's nice to meet again NPCs, you know already from the previous game. I suppose there is a bargain, if you buy all three Avernums together (and I am still annoyed, that I bought one after the other ...) -------------------- site of the month: Do not trample down the earth on which you walk. In A3 I came to several places, where I only found dead bodies: the giants/troglos/golems were here before me. But in the background I could hear the standard town-noise, implementing shouting people, horses, playing children, forge-work and so on. It was, um, kind of spooky and destroyed the deadly atmosphere. Is it possible, to adapt in BoA a fitting background to dead places? Just birdies or nothing ... or flies, buzzing over the corpses. It's a tiny detail, could have a big effect. -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet?
