It was meant to build possibly a rating of the most popular / favorite literary poster. Well, It might have been better to set the "choose one"-option - but it's more democratic like this.

:) And I forgot the question: What is your native language? Mine is German.

This is a poll for grammar-wrenchers and specially for non natively english speaking members.
Has posting on these boards improved your English? Who from the frequently posting members influenced your knowledge most?

It is the destiny of our race to dance on eternity's grave.
...

Great Spirit, I am unworthy;
My species has disgraced itself.
Of all the species that live, or have ever lived,
Mine is the lowliest.
Lower than the flowers who fill the air with sweet pollen,
Lower than the trees who encircle the Earth with their roots,
Lower than the insects, rulers of Earth
Since the beginning of time,
Lower than the darting fish,
Lower than the soaring birds,
Lower than the four-legged creatures,
Who are the beating heart of the living Earth.

Great Spirit, my shame is as deep as the ocean,
And my sadness is unbearable.
I pray for enlightenment,
But fear that my prayer is too late.
Great Spirit, if this be so, then I pray for extinction.
Let my species become extinct, and vanish from the Earth.
Let my loins be barren,
Let my seed not sprout,
Let the race of men fall like leaves.
Let my fields grow wild,
Let my fences crumble,
Let my cities turn to dust, and become forests.
Let the grass drink my blood;
Let my body be food for worms.
Great Spirit, let me die, that the Earth may live.

**This is a prayer from Chris Korda.

:) thank you for mentioning FatBatMonkey and TM *blushes*
You just gave me a kick to continue at my unfinished monsters.

My favorites would be Frahamn's Ambidextrous, Stareye's Spectre, the Abere-girl, TGM's Monk, the Skeletonwarrior from Brett Bixler, EM's Eyebeast and somehow I like the plants and elementals from ADoS. To tell the truth, there is an abundance of splendid graphics in The Louvre.
But I miss bigblue's monsters ... I remember she had a nice mage.

Exactly. I remember to have asked for the sword, then I had not enough money and denied. Coming back I bought first Saljuq, and he gave me Maximilian for free.

Am I the only one that finds the description of women as "whores" and "sluts" far, far more offensive than Phaedra's costume?
"Whore" is not an actual offence. Since prostitution is one of the oldest professions of the world, "whore" should not be a term of abuse. Using it as insult shows intolerance and sexism, IMO.

In light of that, I would now like to ask:
Who the heck are you and what have you done to the other TM?

Woo Aran, you are a walking encyclopaedia! I start to comprehend your custom title ^_^

to TM: :) I appreciate your fight against sexism. I suppose that you wanted Phaedra to be an example. But I can assure that we women in the industrialized countries are aware of dress codes. And I'm sure Phaedra does it too.

The real existing sexism is manifested by inequality of salaries and rights, by stoning-death for adulteresses, by clitoral circumcision in Africa, by far bader topics than sex-fashion.

But I agree with you totally in this point:
quote:
I just think that, moreso than anything else, America needed an emotive revolution and an intellectual one before diving into a sexual one.
Sexuality is over-valued nowadays.
