How often has e.g. BoA been downloaded by now, and how many copies of BoA have been sold?
Spiderweb never released statistics about their games, thus I'm just curious. Could it be more than 8000 downloads and 4000 registrations? What do you think?

It's exactly how he describes. The one and only writing the games is Jeff Vogel; two women help with administration and graphics. Well, Phil Foglio delivers a lot of graphics but without being part of the company.

Also: Jeff is a worker to the core. "... in a sense, I never stop working. Ten minutes rarely go by when I don't think some about designing games", as he mentioned in an interview.

:P I hardly can wait for A4.
Release early 2006 will want the beta-testing in winter, non?

Please continue the sentence above ^

My reasons to favour SW-games:
... because they run on Mac and don't need too much storage.
... they are easy to play by mouse.
... they are democratic shareware.
... they make sense.
... they are far away from mainstream.
And of course I adore the possibilities of the BoA editor tool though I have not used it yet.

TM is my daily dose of twisted irony, I really miss his provocative sense of humour. The boards without TM are like sushi without wasabi: only semi-tasty.
:P I hope he will not become an adapted, well-behaving bourgeois after coming back.

BTW: This ban will cause more martyr experience points - thus more power to TM!

Thank you all, my main question has been answered now. I wanted to know whether BoE was something revolutionary new. But since World Builder and War Craft came 1995 already with an editor it seems not.
You just helped me with my article I'm writing about BoA and Jeff, thanks again.

BTW, the nice, antique, black and white World Builder (it's freeware now) caused four computer crashes before I gave up :D

I'm asking about any games with editor. And with editor I mean a program to design your own scenario as in BoE and BoA, not only a character editor.

Since I stick exclusively to Spiderweb games I have no idea what happened in the big RPG-world outside.

Which was the first game coming with a game editor? BoE was out in January 2001, AFAIK. Do you know earlier games that permitted to create new scenarios?

The Robotic Spider can't be used at all: it appears without use-button in the inventory.

The watchpost is in SW of the Red Dragon Realm. A text widows says: "This watchpost has many guards. You doubt they will let you through. ..." I remember that I could pass in an earlier version though.

From summoned giants I can see only the lower half with the legs. But nevertheless they fight properly; thus it's only funny.

:) I thought it when I saw Otto. So you play bass-viol then?
