oops, the topic has turned into a spider thread.
:D Glad to provide one more picture.

Did you know that tarantulas live 30 years? That's much longer than dog's or cat's lives.

This poll lacks drowning: being thrown into the river, bound and shackled. And impalement was known as well. All from Hammurabi's laws.

Amazing: in Babylon women have been quite equal to men by law.

Another acquaintance:

Tommy is near his forties, tall, slender (a well trained body indeed) and wears his curly, blond hair in a fashionable cut. He looks extremely good. I bet he was a model in his years as a student, but now he is a dentist. An excellent one. He works nimble and precise, with high manual skills and sensibilities; when he plants a syringe you don't perceive it.
Some women say he has a penetrating gaze but he only has natural steel-blue eyes. He is rather a shy guy and cultivates a very correct courtesy.
In his free time he tries to make art; he attends sculpture schools in Italy, and I have yet seen worse artifacts than his. He was divorced. But who was not nowadays? ^_^ Seeing all his qualities you could say that he is simply perfect. However ...

... nobody is flawless. Tommy's dark side has the sharp, cold smell of cocain. Since he didn't completely overcome his former addiction he tries to trick himself. He won't take much money with whenever he goes for a drink, he tries to prevent drug purchase by financial limits. Normally it works, but once in a while he finds himself in a dealer's appartment, bereft of credit cards and keys and driver's licence; having given them in pawn for snow. Then he calls his friends to loan money. He feels terribly ashamed and makes up something about lost purse and lost keys (no car access!), takes an oath to pay it back tomorrow, and eventually they lend that money. Because ... he's not a bum with unstable economical background.

Yesterday morning I got the third of these calls. He's in my debt at 600 by now. And do you know what he said? "Of course you'll never pay again for my dental attention."
Now, this is an option :D

Nevertheless you should play Canopy. Not only for Adlerauge.

Anna recently celebrated her 96th birthday. She's one of the tiny, old ladies that rather become a bag full of bones than a meat ball. She wears thick glasses in a big, owlish shape, and when she goes sleeping she mostly forgets to take them down. I suppose she has long, white hair. You'll never know though, because she always wears fine kerchiefs, kerchiefs even in bed in the hospital. Well, especially in the hospital because ... um, all those young doctors. Oh, and the nurses too. Actually Anna flirts with every human being; vanity hasn't left her yet.

She loves to be photographed and quickly strikes an attitude. Her dressing style is queen-mommy elegance in light blue or white: pleated skirts, knitwear with nonpareils, big handbags. Only the everlasting kerchief and the shoes (she has to wear ugly, flat health shoes) might disrupt her ladylike dignity.

She adores birds and little children, anything sweet and fragile, anything that needs protection. When she takes a walk in the public gardens with her stiff, little paces, she stops at the playground and watches the infants playing. Chirping in a high-pitched baby-speech she tries to decoy them - as if she would decoy kittens. Whenever a child comes closer, Anna gets into raptures and almost becomes a little child herself.

Of course she is a little bit eccentric. In her age you are either eccentric or numb; Anna is still too curious to become a numskull. Too bad she is slightly hard of hearing. Though I suspect that she only decreases the level of her ear device because she doesn't want to hear the world's noise. Nevertheless you can talk of anything with her. It happens she suddenly starts to speak in French or English to prevent the nearby neighbours from understanding private things. She is a funny little bird, and full of joy.

Yesterday I took her out for dinner. We shared a pizza, drank a glass of wine, and it wasn't tedious at all ^_^

edit:
:) Jewels, did you describe your parents?

I suspect that most of SW.members have cats. It has probably to do with the conspicuous presence of intelligent cats in Avernum.
^_^ Dolphin is the big exception. Well, maybe Alec too, respectively his mother.

:P You shouldn't marry every date.

edit: um, Grignard, please meet her first and get to know her better before you make decisions to drop good job opportunities. You could, for example, go with her for holidays.

And remember: a job usually lasts longer than a love, is less fragile and easier to handle. Choose wisely.
Congrats to your chemists exam, BTW. I am impressed ^_^

Email address: evita (at) tele2 (dot) ch
experience in testing: Canopy, Undead Valley
what are the main things you look at when testing: details (I'm nitpicky), plot, the logic of dialogues.
gender: female
the OS you will use to test: I belong to the rare people being too lazy to upload X and still using Mac OS 9.2
At the BoA Betatest Center I run under spy.there.

:P Funny how Overwhelming appears only when his website has been mentioned here. He must have placed a covert detecting system at SW boards.

:( boo whoo, now I never can be an innkeeper anymore.

Otherwise interesting ranks. Though I would have enjoyed to see the first two titles as "noob" and "newb".
But well, it might injure the CoC. Postaroni on the other hand doesn't. *_* hmm.
