I suppose there is no special reason needed for banning TM. He has probably only been banned for being TM. It has become a sort of running gag, IMHO. edit: Oh well, it's his sig. And JV, feeling offended. [ Monday, March 06, 2006 04:07: Message edited by: Nathalie.Ashby ] -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? It had not that addictive effect of the other demos, when I had to register because I was in the middle of the game and couldn't stop anymore. Normally the boards have no influence to my decisions, I'm rather immune against any propaganda. I also think that the demos are convincing enough (or not). :) But for A4 I think I'll comply with Jeff's advice. edit: <embellish post> [ Monday, March 06, 2006 02:58: Message edited by: Nathalie.Ashby ] -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? I think Aran's was better, more logical somehow. I forgot in which topic I've read it. First I thought, Aran had written it himself (and wondered about the double texts) :D until I found out that it is a weird program. Do you remember the "psychological" program called Eliza? -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? <_< >_> I feel a little bit guilty to have triggered all that crap. I even applauded Ash to his new sig ... without being banned. Jeff seems to be very thin-skinned right now. First I thought it might be a good thing, to see him visiting the boards so often - but his vulnerability makes me think. Why is he so much concerned by the few criticism when the game is selling so good? Yes, he said on the other page that was not saved by Aran (woot for archival wizardry!) that A4 has become the best selling Spiderweb game ever. :) Maybe he only needs some holidays. -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? I finally managed to be online again and to download this exceeding scenario. Woah! This is a talented author. :P Careful, TM, Kel and *i: here comes competition. I really enjoyed all the charming details, the NPCs with their little jokes and how Smoo implemented his personal situation (?join the brave army“, ha ha). I was a little bit disappointed by the intro pics. They look so ... greyish, unpointed ... (um ... please Smoo, could you replace the second, unfinished pic? Thanx). And the titel leads astray: This is not the story of the Mage of Cattalon. ^_^ Oh well, I should write a review. Two things: - I cannot find the missing cattle for Theseus. I remember though to have found them once, but it’s not repeatable. - To get the moonstone I had to chase several groups of Nephilim, use a rope to climb up a mountain :D etc. The second time I found the moonstone amongst the first Nephilims I met. No climbing, no hidden caves. Does it work at random? =_= Also, I was too stupid to push Franck’s rocks into the fence, but I'll try it now (thank you, 6666). to Magpie: Maybe your download is flawed? When I downloaded MoC the first time, I could not see the half of monsters and graphics (o_o ... invisible enemies everywhere!), and the party was incredibly slowed: every move took a whole second. I downloaded the scenario once again and everything worked fine. edit: uh, oh, stareye of course, sorry. It looks as if I needed new lenses Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |
Play BoA or A1-4 first? in Blades of Avernum | |

Hi Lancer / Ramses, welcome at Spiderweb boards! :) Great to see new members with good taste in gaming. Personally I also would play A 1 - 3 first. You get the whole Avernum background and get familiar to strategies in battles and skill raising. There are BoA-scenarios where you might need some advanced Avernum experience. And don't make the mistake I made and buy one after the other: There is a discount if you buy the whole trilogy together. But at last it does not matter whether you switch between BoA and the series because they are unconnected. Except you might miss a few technical improvements in the older games (e.g. picking items by clicking on them). Have a good time in Avernum! It is to hope you have loads of time ^_^ -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? Posts: 1420 | Registered: Wednesday, October 2 2002 07:00 |

Thank you all for the compliments ^_^ What do you mean with "nasty", Nazgul? The effect or the drawing? I think the children are rather harmless, like sleeping. First I had crying mothers on that pic; it was much more frightening. But also too crowded. And nobody saw the drawings before Smoo. I usually don't show the half-done work :) -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet? Ah, so you got the second pic. Since I'm still offline I had to send it from a friend's computer and she sent the wrong mail +_+ then went immediately. I had to find another computer to send the right picture. I'm soo curious how they look in the shrinked intro-version. Sitting in a hospital with a very slow analogue line and my old ibook (the handbag) there is no chance to play BoA or to download MoC, boo hoo. But at least I'm back at SW boards! I banned myself until I had finished Smoo's pics. And no, the pictures didn't make ME sick, rather Smoo who had to wait such a long time. :( And ... um, six month of military base sounds really unhealthy. My sympathy, Smoo. :) Welcome IT 000! We like Avernum a lot - change your friends ^_^ I remember a mithril blade in A3. No axes in the series, but a blessed axe in a Blades of Avernum scenario. I suggest to try out the free demos and find out whether you like it or not. Also it is an advantage to have a Mac. Since all SW-games are developed on Mac, the Macians will have new games some months earlier. -------------------- Slartucker: * facepalm facepalm facepalm * Dikiyoba: Are you unconscious yet?
