Bad news Eph, the contest started 18 hours ago... :D Actually I think next week will be the week, meaning the contest will span from the morning of the 22nd to midnight of the 28th. This seems to fit everybody's schedule except Thralni (to whom I apologize. The only week that looks like it'd work for you is the 5th - 11th, which is getting close to the start of school and would mean judging would be going on the week I'd be moving in. Sorry.) -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

Judging will begin August 1st, but I'm not sure when the deadline would be. It depends on how many scenarios we get, but it shouldn't take that long regardless since the scenarios will be short. I'll tentatively say a week from then. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

*mumble* I would have really liked to join in, but... well. One just can't have all he wishes, does he. the weeks I could have made it would be the one you mentioned and the two weeks after that. *mumble* -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Well, I will not have time to neither submit nor judge for the next three weeks (everything that I know about grammar says that that sentance is correct, but dang, that looks awkward), so, alas, I cannot be involved. But I would like to submit an observation: GET YOUR BETA TESTERS RESERVED NOW! -------------------- The Silent Assassin just did the hokey pokey and turned himself around. Ooh, I'll be gone for the judging week, although I may be able to quickly play the scenarios when I return (due to a flight change I'm coming back on the 6th instead of 7th, so I'll have more time.) -------------------- "Let us see what the new day brings." - Temas, Areni. The time works for me (the Saturday), though I'm probably going to do something proof-of-concept-ish. Is beta-testing going to be that much of a problem. Each designer could probably beta-test one or maybe two other scenarios in the three days (they will be short), and I'm sure there'll be non-designers wanting to beta-test too. EDIT: I don't think the use of 'neither' makes it a double negative. -------------------- "Shalom, y'all." Regardless of whether the closest literal meaning is "I'll have time for both", "I'll have time for at least/exactly one" or "I won't have time", it's not grammatically sound. "I will neither have time for participating nor for judging" would be closer. (Oh my god. I'll be swinging glistening scythes next.) -------------------- Encyclopaedia • Archives • Members • RSS [Topic / Forum] • Blog • Polaris • NaNoWriMo Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. | I have a love of woodwind instruments. The contest week is now officially the coming week: 12 am EST of sunday the 22nd to 12pm EST of saturday the 28th. Reminder to potential participants: you may choose any 24 hour span, so long as you clock in when you begin work and have the finished scenario sent to twenty_four_hour_scenario@yahoo.com before 24 hours have passed. You may make as many scenarios as you want, and enter as many as you want in the contest. You just have to clock in for each scenario, and no scenario can take longer than 24 hours (Iron man anyone?) -------------------- "Heart of Earth located in Europe, Ass of Earth located in USA." Rules question: Should importing towns be allowed? I know I stated that town design needs to be done the day of, but importing towns from already created scenarios is a tad different than drawing new towns ahead of time. I put this up to you guys because this affects me, and I don't want to go making rules to give myself an advantage. Specifically I was thinking of doing several scenarios for the contest that would fit together into a multi-part story. There would be some overlap occasionally where I'd want to import a town, which is why I ask ahead of time before I begin work. This rule could also apply to designers who want to perhaps make a short sequel to a previous work, and could import an old town. I'll leave this up to you guys-- I'll get by regardless of which way you decide. :( Contest begins at midnight EST tonight, which is a little less than 7 hours from now. Just a heads up; remember you can choose any 24 hour span. -------------------- "Heart of Earth located in Europe, Ass of Earth located in USA." Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? BoE scenarios ARE elligible, and the same rules apply to them as BoA scenarios. Would have mentioned it earlier but I didn't know anyone was interested in using BoE. Oh and the contest started an hour ago. Final deadline is a week from now. -------------------- "Heart of Earth located in Europe, Ass of Earth located in USA." Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Roll call! I'm kinda curious who all plans on submitting. I was toying with the idea of doing something, but I decided I'd rather travel down to Red Deer to watch my sister in a band concert on Saturday. I may take off Thursday or Friday, but it all depends on how slow someone in my lab is getting something ready for me. Of course, the fact that I haven't had any serious Editor usage since a half-completed scenario a year and a half ago might have something to do with it. -------------------- Caution: Water on road during rain. I'll likely participate. I have an idea that I abandoned a long time ago, and now might be the time to drag it back out into the light. It involves chitrachs. If absolute worst came to absolute worst, I'd fragment my 24 hours (if that's even allowed). -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Just to head off any further questions or encouragements in my direction, I'll say that there is absolutely no way I will have even six consecutive hours free in the next week, let alone 24. I'm not in. I'd like to submit a scenario but probably won't, unless I get a sudden inspiration. (Then again, even if I did get an inspiration, the birth of my baby might stop the scenario-making process this week. :) ) [ Monday, July 23, 2007 07:27: Message edited by: *Milu* ] Posts: 77 | Registered: Sunday, July 10 2005 07:00 |
