I just realized that Shaper Master has linked to Desperance in his sig. I am speaking for everyone who goes to Desperance when I say that is a crime. -------------------- We're all amazed but not amused By all the things that you said you'd do. I'd have to have a laptop and an unlimited supply of ice cold sodas if you wanted me to stay in the desert for a year. Plus you'd have to pay me a lot of money. Uh, TM, I had it there for a while. Plus, I only go to it sometimes. I may just go there to piss you off. [MOCKING TM]OMG, I just noticed TM has a link to desp. That's a crime.[/MOCKING TM] [ Friday, June 13, 2003 18:31: Message edited by: The Unchosen One ] Posts: 543 | Registered: Sunday, June 1 2003 07:00 |

And this current thread of discussion is a sin. Someone die for it, please. Preferably you, SM. I chose Thuryl for obvious reasons. Well, there are thre categories of people. The first is people who I would feel no guilt about eating. The second is people over whom I would feel only moderate guilt after killing them in a fit of insane rage after decades on this island. The third group is people towards whom I would probably not have insane rages. —Alorael, who is sure those who know him can guess who fits in which category. And if you're not sure, just assume that you personally would go under the heading of lunch. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

I also picked Thuryl. While I amuse myself in the fruit grove, Thuryl can devise plans of escape involving coconuts and mango stones. Actually, though, I can cook, catch animals, and keep us alive while Thuryl gets us off (SIRS I KNOW). -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Vahnatai Did Do It desperance.net - We're Everywhere The Arena - God Will Sort The Dead ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! I can't help but wonder who voted for Scorp. Yep, toothache and sand flies rather take the gloss of desert island living, as does the daily grind of work in non-desert island living. I must say, I rather tend to the plumpest offering for reasons discussed by others above. Did someone mention their gorging on burgers and pizza above? Who said the idea was to enjoy the stay? Basically, the question can also be interpreted: If you had to spend the rest of your life on a lone island (and dying of thirst if there's no spring), who would you wish to have the same fate? :P -------------------- "And all should cry, Beware, Beware! I picked Alec because he's interesting and fairly easy on the eye. I wouldn't mind being stuck with Alorael either, we could experiment with plants and see which made you high! I'd probably end up eating David on the first day just to get rid of him. -------------------- I say never be complete. I say stop being perfect. I say let's evolve. I do, Jigga. My great uncle is one of the most famous yacht makers in the world, or at least the country, and I seem to have aquired at least a little of that trait. Although this kind of depends on how far the island is from civilization... don't expect the Santa Maria... By the way, I am proud to have two votes, even if they are both based on canniballism. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. Hmmh, this is actually tough, having only been here 4 months.... Let's see: Drakey... Seems nice enough, has a fruit obsession and claims to be five years old. Not really desert island material. Sir David... I would most likely relentlessly try to convert him to my worldview. If I succeeded, he would be useless to me. If I didn't succeed eventually, I'd have to eat him out of sheer frustration. Pass. Alec... a french-spouting hard case who loves to pick apart every word you say. The island would turn into a "Highlander" movie right quick, methinks. TGM... a hyperactive finn? Although you could probably play sandhockey with the guy for days on end, I can't claim to understand him. ef... smart, caring, educated...and holds my mothers beliefs almost verbatim. Pass. RentBoy... I get enough of that guy every day. Plus, he scares me. ;) Scorpius... If nothing else, it would be interesting. But it would also have serious "Lord of the Flies" potential. Thuryl... don't know too much about him, but seems to have potential to be like the Professor from Gilligan's Island. I'm more the manual labor sort myself, so...maybe. Djur... I'd probably get sick of his pining. Saunders... don't know much about her, but she makes up stories and seems to have a pretty twisted mind. In conclusion...Saunders, probably. No offense intended to the aforementioned personages, real or otherwise. -------------------- ... Posts: 647 | Registered: Wednesday, February 19 2003 08:00 |

Just remember P.R., if you ran out of food, be sure to take Aloraels sniper rifle and hidden packages of Skribbane. You can possibly become faster and get off the island. ;) Posts: 543 | Registered: Sunday, June 1 2003 07:00 |

I picked Alec, simply because it would be all too easy to smash his head in with a coconut. :P -------------------- "Man hands down misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf. Being one of the aforementioned genetic failures, I'm going to claim that the trait is endemic in all British males. If I was going to be on a desert island, I'd want someone who I rather like, or failing that who I could at least have a good conversation with. That excludes ef (I don't know enough about sociology) and Davey (sure, I could have a reasonable debate, but the background knowledge just isn't there to sustain it.) Then I'd want someone I wouldn't feel too guilty about eating. Saunders and ef (again) are out, and I don't feel I know Rentboy well enough as yet to include him either. Then I'd want someone who I could be fairly sure of not catching anything off. Scorp, Alec and Djur are off the list without a doubt, I suspect Davey is a closet pecattiphiliac, Drakey has an unnatural obsession with fruit and I don't like to inquire in what ways TGM is a deviant. That just leaves Thuryl. In the interests of me, the Turing machine woul have to die. -------------------- Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned I'll tell you my story, man Though I wish I'd never been born I'm loose at the seams, I've broken my dreams And my hand it shakes the pen Come on, come on now baby, Let the good times roll again Posts: 961 | Registered: Thursday, June 12 2003 07:00 |
