________________________________________________ VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT another "I want a custom title" thread! Yee been warned! _________________________________________________ Recently I have been thinking hard on the subject of custom titles. How does someone get one? What determines it? Who gives it out? Why is it some BANNED members who had custom titles still have them in their profiles as crossed-out text next to the BANNED sign? The oddity I've noticed is, why is it that some members who have very small post count have custom titles? Like Zorro (Havent checked his count recently so forgive me if I'm wrong) has about 200 posts yet has the title "Lack of Vision". Granted this may have something to do with his affiliation with the RWG cult. But still... Does post-count/post quality (Good and bad) influence when/if/what your custom title is? Looking through the archives I see "Sir Mothrax Of Exile" with the custom title "Senile Reptile". Why? Thinking of Alorael, is his new title custom or just a facet of his now insanely high post count? All this and more buzzes around my head at the moment. Were did your custom title originate? Speaking to all SW members here. -------------------- "I must admit, killing mortals is much easier then killing demons. Alorael doesn't have a custom title. He has a normal title on places he is not moderator. But that normal title needs very very high post counts. And do you have Mac or Windows? -------------------- Muffins n' Hell|Muffins n' Hell: The Muffins Are Back Again I have an addiction to Spiderweb games. He was refering to the screenshot part. If you have windows just hold control and then press the printscreen button while the game is up. You can then paste the image into whatever image editing program you prefer. -------------------- Lt. Sullust Quaere verum Posts: 2462 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

quote:- when: In part. - if: Oh, definitely. - what: It will be easier if you think of it this way. In a zen-like way: You will not receive a custom title until you realize that a custom title is nothing to care about. --- Most titles are from some game Drakefyre likes to play (names of levels). Marathon, I think. Motrax has been a Senile Reptile ever since a certain event in summer 2003. Only one member has crossed-out text in his title, and he is Alec. Normal members only retain their BANNED title for the duration of their ban. BANNED is not automatically given to banned members, so it can be borne by non-banned members, and members can be banned without getting this title. Out of curiosity, when was the last time a custom title was granted? -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Please rate these scenarios at the CSR after playing them! Other than BANNED and CANNED, the last one I remember was when Aran got "Man of the People" upon his elevation to mod in General about a year and half ago. I think he had a custom title before that one anyway. There was a major protest from Alorael at not getting a custom title at the time. Posts: 4643 | Registered: Friday, February 10 2006 08:00 |

I had two titles before then, but I didn't really like either. A Very Important Date, and Painting the Roses Red. -------------------- The Noble and Ancient Order of Polaris - We're Not Yet Dead. Zorro got his title for being one of the few, proud (ironically) Galactic Core owners. Sir Motrax got his by asking *i for exactly the title he got. Apparently our malevolent dictator in residence was in a good mood. No, it has nothing to do with his most inglorious moment. The only BANNED with strikethrough is, as far as I can recall, Alec. It's part of his long string of former and aspired titles. —Alorael, whose lack of a custom title can be traced directly to Drakey's pernicious evil. It's pernicious even in absentia! Truly unfair. Soon all of us will be with custom titles...except you. You will be an outcast, running away at the shame... No, not really. But I'm sure people like to think that. -------------------- Muffins n' Hell|Muffins n' Hell: The Muffins Are Back Again I have an addiction to Spiderweb games. Some of Drakey's titles are references to Marathon levels. More of them are references to Alice in Wonderland: see my title, Aran's old titles, Kel's titles, and so on. I of course prefer this list. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central "Making poorly-sourced claims is not the same as determining something." Apparently Slarty concocted his list during my sabbatical last year, as I never saw it. Amusing, yes, and odd...very odd, indeed. I see that in the last year, I went from being Panglossary, to Martha Stewart, to Pepe Le-Pew (come on, who won the fight, man?) I can't say my stock appears to be rising, but only one of the three above would likely care much. :p -S- EDIT: Preventing a visit from the Grammar Police.
