Right, so winter is upon roughly half of us. In the spirit of the landscape thread, I find it necessary to share the pure awesome-ness of the icestorm that hit St. Louis yesterday. Here are some more in the much more board-friendly link format. Ice! (one of my favorites) More Ice! Even more pretty ice! (one of the more impressive ones, IMHO) Yup, more ice. Icicles! EDIT: Added icicles to appease Tyran. [ Sunday, December 03, 2006 12:40: Message edited by: Ephesos ] -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. We had a lovely sunrise this morning, but my camera unfortunately isn't built for that kind of thing. The morning was clear, bright and literally "red" - everything was tinted by a rosy dawn light. Exactly like the weather we had last year on this day. :) This almost makes up for the fact that we won't see any snow before January. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. It is actually unseasonably warm where I live. Normally, it would be snowing now this time of year, but it was actually 70 degrees the other day. At least we're getting plenty of wind and rain. Global warming anyone? -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

It was 70F here in Chicago two days ago. Yesterday it rained and dropped to 40F. Today there is 6" of snow on the ground with my window thermometer reading 29F. These were drastic changes in my opinion. Tully, try screaming global warming where it isn't so warm. -------------------- Thuryl: I mean, most of us don't go around consuming our own bodily fluids, no matter how delicious they are. ==== Alorael: War and violence would end if we all had each other's babies! ==== Drakefyre: Those are hideous mangos. Well, Tully live only a few hours from me (Pennsylvania), and it was in the 70s well into the afternoon today. Then in a few hours, the temperature dropped 30 degrees. I think we're experiencing the weather you describe, Garrison. -------------------- "You're drinking liquor because you're thirsty? Hey, that's our weather front! We had it first! :P Yeah, I'm not sure what's up with nasty storms and StL lately... haven't seen anything like that storm in years. I mean, except the thunderstorms we had over the summer... but nothing with ice. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. It was shorts and T-shirt weather here last week. Unfortunately, it decided to be 30 degrees here in the morning and I nearly died on my way to math. Stupid winter. -------------------- You acquire an item: Radio Free Foil Posts: 1169 | Registered: Monday, September 23 2002 07:00 |

You're so lucky even to have temperatures cold enough for snow. Over here it's been 38 degrees Celcius, and will get higher as summer continues. You get all the snowstorms, we get all the bushfires. It just isn't fair. [ Saturday, December 02, 2006 11:18: Message edited by: The Stew Boy ] Posts: 587 | Registered: Tuesday, April 1 2003 08:00 |

There has yet to be any solid snowfall in either Ohio or New Jersey this season. This is my girlfriend's house (in NJ) in late January of this past year. We should have had snow like that for the past month and some, but instead we have been snow-free. It's just above zero temperature out there, sometimes even 5 celsius, when it should be -5. I don't mind though. The snow is pretty, but I never did care for the icy wind blowing and freezing my face off. -------------------- "I'm not crazy!" "Well, whatever. In Holland we have broken records almost every day with our current temperatures. In 300 years it wasn't so warm here during this time. It's abotu 3,5 degrees warmer than normal, 1,5 degrees warmer than last year. Lousy California... Fresno and it's not-cold-enough-to-snow-iness. Actually though, the fog looks pretty cool when it gets thick. What I'm wondering is why everyone thinks that Tullegolar is a cruel, heartless jerk. Admittedly, he can be cruel sometimes, but heartless? Besides, trees symbolize the peak of Tullegolar's philosophy. They're strong, unwavering, and capable of creating sticks to whack the weak with. So of course he would love trees. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. Posts: 2686 | Registered: Friday, September 8 2006 07:00 |

It appears to be the Doom Tree from Sailor Moon. I'm never going to look at Tullegolar in quite the same way again. :P (What? Never mind how I know what it is. This conversation isn't about me.)
