What is your favorite movie? I happen to like most science fiction movies. I think 2001 A Space Odyssey was one of the best films ever made. Blade Runner The Directors Cut is even better than Blade Runner lots of new material. I think I am going to try Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. My favorite is Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. Great movie. 2001: A Space Odyssey? I watch that movie when I can't sleep. It always fixes the problem. I also watch the beginning when I am feeling rather sadistic. There is something incredibly amusing about apes beating each other with bones. -------------------- Not a signature Posts: 170 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I like Spiderman. I'm not saying it's my ultimate favourite movie, because that depends on what mood I'm in. Other possibilities include LA Confidential, Arsenic and Old Lace, Jean de Florette, Groundhog Day, The Incredibles, etc. -------------------- Everything I know about the Avernum Trilogy: [ A1 | A2 | A3 ] Posts: 1104 | Registered: Monday, March 10 2003 08:00 |

The Matrix. Hands down. The first one is good alone, but when put together as a complete trilogy, all three are great. I love a good "mess-with-your-head" flick. Fight Club is up there too, then. Oh, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail is indeed a holy grail of comedy. Hells yea for Clue and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. And for some reason, Napoleon Dynamite deserves some credit. GOSH! -------------------- The critics agree! 2001 always annoys me. This monolith forces us to evolve by inspiring us to use tools to kill each other... This is a good thing? Only the middle section, with HAL 9000 and company, was worth watching. In fact, whenever I watch the movie now I just skip both the beginning and end. I dont' have a single favorite movie, just a bunch of them. It's a waste of time for me to try to rank them, since it depends on what mood I'm in (as someone else mentioned above). So here's some of them, the ones I can think of off the top of my head: THX-1138 Star Wars—all of them except Episode I, with Episode III being the best (in fact, I'm going to go see it today for the third time, this time with my brother) The Lord of the Rings—all three Brazil Time Bandits The Adventures of Baron Monchausen (however you spell it) Twelve Monkeys Playtime (Jacques Tati's 3rd Mr. Hulot film) The Chronicles of Riddick (the director's cut) Napoleon Dynamite ("I wish you'd get out of my life and shut up!") Clear and Present Danger Conan the Barbarian (inferior to Robert E. Howard's original stories, but the action scenes and music are great) Soylent Green (big surprise there, I'm sure) ;) Koyaanisqatsi Baraka The Thirteenth Floor Hellboy The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen The Wages of Fear The Treasure of the Sierra Madre Fancy Pants Scavenger Hunt Oscar What's Up, Doc? Clue Breaker Morant The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (naturally) And a few dozen others that I can't think of at the moment, but will remember a few hours from now and will kick myself for having left them off the list. quote:Naaaaaa. The first one is pretty damn good, I'll admit that, but after that it just turns to rubbish. It seems to me that they were hastily put together and not much effort was put in. The second two had little moments in them but just didn't seem all that great. Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

It's hard to pick one. Maybe The Incredibles. Accidental Hero, Collateral, Life is Beautiful, The Last Samurai, Batman Begins, To End All Wars, The Sixth Sense, and a bunch of others are excellent as well, though. -------------------- Sex is easier than love. Favorites would probably be... -Dogma -Ferris Bueller's Day Off -Monty Python and the Holy Grail -Young Frankenstein Anything that can mix humor with a good message (i.e: Dogma), is downright awesome, but normal/absurd/random comedy (i.e.: Monty Python) is also good. EDIT: -Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (truly awesome movie) [ Monday, July 11, 2005 19:21: Message edited by: Ephesos ] -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. Childhood Favorites: Batteries not Included Short Circuit (both 1 and 2) TMNT (original only, not the icky sequels) Ghost Busters (1, not 2) Indiana Jones: Last Crucade (though Temple of Doom gave me nightmares for a time) Modern Favorites: Shawshank Redemption X-men 1 and 2 LotR trillogy Spiderman 1 and 2 I love most Si-fi/fantasy and thrillers, but hate horror. I enjoy comedy and can appreciate rommace as long as it's not too mushy. Eye candy over plot, favorite actors over great acting.
