Oh, and I have but one thing to say to AM:

... Troaie qui primus ab oris
Italiam fato profugus Laviniaque venit
litora, multum ille et terris iactatus et alto
vi superum, saevae memorem Iunonis ob iram,
multa quoque et bello passus, dum conderet urbem
inferretque deos Latio; genus unde Latinum
Albanique patres atque altae moenia Romae.

Well, my accent doesn't reflect the Boston accent. Most people around here tend to drop their Rs. Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd, as they say. The Boston accent can be heard in the They Might Be Giants song, Wicked Little Critta.
www.tmbg.com
Enter the site, and click on E-Cards button until "Wicked Critta" comes out of the accordian. Then click the target, listen to the song and shoot some goals. You'll learn a little about the way Bostonians talk.
And while you're there, listen to the other songs too. TMBG is awesome.

I learned English basics first from British textbooks in a German school, then I learned it at a native level in an international school, where most people were American, German, or Japanese. Go figure. :)

Aran's accent sounds like an ordinary German accent to me. I don't know what makes you think of Chinese.

And "Troiae."

Splendid, but as previously mentioned, you don't get the points. :)

Stughalf = STUHG-half. The L, for some reason, is not silent. Well, it is now. Arancaytar = (Aaron)-KAY-tar. Close enough. He sounds British to me, by the way, and I'm pretty sure he's technically American, though it may shame him to admit to this transgression in his distant past.

Yeah, I pronounce "Arancaytar" like "Aaron Carter", only with the car replaced with a cay as in "Cayman Islands".

Wow.

It never occurred to me to pronounce your name like that. I even had to replay it several times to recognize it. ;) Came out like 'Sexy Quest'. :D

Eh, it's better than people pronouncing it "Zexy Quezy." Which I think happened; I have a bad memory.

I've always pronounced it without the e, for some reason, but then I've never said it out loud...

I've always pronounced it zee-ex-KEZ. How wrong I've been.

Yes, I've done the same. Something that appears to be inpronouncable is instinctively spelled out by letter, like an acronym.

I've always pronounced Zxquez the way Zxquez pronounces Zxquez, but then, I've had practice with unpronounceable names.

I've pronounced it just about right, except I said it more as zix-quez rather than his zix-i-quez

I've been sticking some mutilated vowel between the Z and the x to get a mix between zix, zex, and zux. The same vowel went between the u and the z, though I now realize it should have been a simple e.

While we're on this topic, is Thuryl pronounced THUR-ill, or THUR-isle, or THUR-eel, or thur-EEL, or what?

I've always pronounced it THUR-ill. But I'm probably far off there.

Btw, David, we're having a little of a situation, so check by the Interim when you have time.

I pronounce it the same as the German.

Also, my voice isn't going up any time in the foreseeable future due to sounding like crap from an allergic reaction, and the only existing files I have are unspeakably lewd. So it goes.

I think of Thuryl as one syllable. Or "Thurly", sometimes.

Kelandon = Kel-AN-don
Arancaytar = Aaron-CAY-tor

Any more?

I pronounce Thuryl ther-ILL.

Kelandon has stated before that he pronounces his name ke-LAN-dun. That's the way I've always pronounced it, myself.

I've stressed Kelandon on the second syllable since I first saw his name here. Funnily enough, I've always thought of the "l" as a 'voiced' l (formed with your tongue just behind the front teeth rather than at the back of the mouth).
