Ezakly. Is there any distinction between Mac- and PC-created scenarios? (Oh yeah, and before Drakey gets to it, Macs are PCs to. PC just means Personal Computer. Not that I care.) -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. There wasn't a distinction for BoE, except for the graphics which can easily be put in both formats. So there shouldn't be a difference in BoA. -------------------- ♫ The truth is screaming BIG ♫ ♫ A light so bright ♫ ♫ Whether day or night ♫ ♫ It can't be hid ♫ § realitycorp@gmail.com § ►► Chance is back online! ◄◄ Posts: 245 | Registered: Tuesday, February 17 2004 08:00 |

I like cucumber sandwiches. But not Vegemite, which sometimes goes along with them. -------------------- "At times discretion should be thrown aside, and with the foolish we should play the fool." - Menander ==== Drakefyre's Demesne - Vahnatai Did Do It desperance.net - We're Everywhere The Arena - God Will Sort The Dead ==== You can take my Mac when you pry my cold, dead fingers off the mouse! Kosher dill pickles? Fine. But cut the cucumbers. Those only taste good with fatty salad dressing, which makes up for the lack of taste. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL In case of emergency, break glass. We could always look at whats better by maximum system specs (WITHOUT overclocking) I think (correct me if I'm wrong) for PC's it's Processor speed: 3.4 GHz Front Side Bus: 1600 MHz RAM: Something like 3 GB RAM Speed: 400 MHz Sound: 7.1 with Hardware Acceleration Hard Drive: With lots of RAID controllers Possibly 1 TeraByte CD-Burner/DVD-ROM: 52x 32x 52x 16x DVD-Burner/8x 4x 8x 24x 10x 32x The rest, I have no idea -------------------- "We can learn a lot from crayons. Actually where I live I've seen complete systems with 1TB Drives in, quite frankly if that's what the retailers are selling I'm pretty sure I could get a 1.2, maybe 1.4 on its' own from a parts dealer for about as much as the retailers think their 1.0 is worth. And COME ON! Who needs that much in the way of specs? NO ONE! You can run a small country's defence network on a third of that. I haven't found a game which needs nearly that much. It's just a waste of money, because in six months you can buy it for half the price. Christ! I could source parts and put one together for 2/3 right now. By ze way, those aren't actually the best specs you can get on a finished. I saw a review on a new system out recently that barring peripherals was about 5-10% better. EDIT: WOOOOHHH!!!! 100! In your face math boy! WOOOOH!! Possums! Hardly any reason to allow this saggy discussion to continue, as evidently most members have already voiced their platform preferences. Mac OS 10.2.8 and proud. I'd like to try Linux, but I'm gonna wait til I get a new computer, my attempts at installing YDL and Debian failed, something about the boot program. I'm on an aging G4 Cube, still with Mac OS 9, and desperately trying to get a newer thing to compute with. I'm a born and raised Mac user, and I can tell you that everything is easier on Macs for me, just as everything is easier on Windows for those more familiar with Windows. In conclusion, preference is arbitrary. But Macs are still better! ?Alorael, who doesn't think system specs are meaningful across platforms. And really, how often are you going to be rendering huge piles of graphics or compiling massive programs? Do you really need an even more impressive toaster on your desk? I'm a switcher as of a few years ao. I don't know about any Windows OS past 98, but I don't miss the confusing setups or the aggravating crashes. Stuff still crashes on this machine, but it's the programs, not the OS. -------------------- Scandalous Stories, fishing, and great photos Posts: 294 | Registered: Monday, November 24 2003 08:00 |

I've noticed negligible differences in speeds when running those demanding games on one high-end computer versus another. Sure, you may save a second or two, but unless you're playing three of those at once it really doesn't matter. ?Alorael, who doesn't play many of those anyway. Granted, that is partially becaue his computer stares at him mournfully when he even sticks the CD in the drive, but he's not terribly interested in most of them. The main thing I like about Mac is that it is what video editing is done on. Yes you can do it on a PC but its just a hasle to do so. You go to college and you'll find all the video is done on Mac's. And yes you can fill a tera, go into the video production's end of life and you'll do it all the time. Me, I like both PC and Mac. I have an emac for all of my video fun and use the PC for close to everything else. One thing about Mac: it has EV, EVO and EVN. The one thing about PC: EV, EVO and EVN got ported to windows. Wow, I'm a loser. I'm going to go play a game. =P -------------------- With his last breath he took in more power then any Guardian could hold, then with a scream of pain and furry he unleashed it all to form a barrier betwen the Mantia and the Darkness.
