If you dont mind sayin, how exactly did you (nobody in particular) get or come up with your publically displayed name? For those of you who didnt read my other thread, Apollyon is one of the destroyers of the underworld, one of satan's angels, if you will. He was primarily mentioned in Revelation as the one who sends to earth the whorde of demon-locust to torture unbelievers. (cheerful guy, hugh?) In Latin he is Apollyon and in Greek is Abbadon (or vice versa, I dont know). I just like the name... ;) -------------------- Join RC's new (and paid-for) forum, www.chanceforums.tk And that, my Leige, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped. -Sir Bedevere It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt! Mine comes from "Stughalf the Sword," the protagonist of a story I wrote quite a long time ago. I just liked the name, so I continued to use it, for AIM, message boards and as a general alias. Contrary to popular belief, "Stughalf" does not mean "half of Stug," or anything else for that matter. -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. Mine, of course, comes from everyone's favorite movie: Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But you already knew that, right? :P Or, it could also be said to have come from the PC/MAC Worms 2 and the new Worms 3D, which also include this terrifying weapon in tribute to the greatest of cinematic masterpieces. -------------------- "Never think twice about something if the first time you thought about it you thought you were thinking about it twice when really it was just once, and never think about something once unless there's money involved." --The Mad Hatter's Deceaced Wife Posts: 59 | Registered: Wednesday, June 26 2002 07:00 |

Why don't you explain tGP's name as well, Drakey? :P -------------------- "Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain- at least in a poor country like Russia- and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires. Arcblade. Hmm... well. That was the name of a character I almost made a story out of. Arc is a mathamatical term , meaning a curve of some sort. Blade is probably a reference to the swords I like to draw during boring classes. -------------------- Chance Forums. Posts: 153 | Registered: Tuesday, December 2 2003 08:00 |

A bit obvious where I get my name. I use "Sir" because I do try to live up to some of the more noble aspects of the kind of knighthood portrayed in some fiction. "Of Exile" is sort of like a title, because titles like that are archaic and I like archaic stuff. My other names were from books or games, for the most part. -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1614 | Registered: Wednesday, January 23 2002 08:00 |

"Sir" comes from my love of medieval history and fantasy, and also all the stuff that Motrax said. "David" is my first name. "iDavid" (if anyone remembers that) is just a combination of my name and the newer products from Apple. -------------------- And though the musicians would die, the music would live on in the imaginations of all who heard it. -The Last Pendragon TEH CONSPIRACY IZ ALL Les forum de la chance. 'Wise Man' came from my head. the prefix is mostly random. 'Bimillenial' was an exception to the randomness and anyone can guess why. -------------------- Urban wisdom is not actual wisdom. Sherlock Holmes - MSW is self explanatory. Sherlock Holmes is my favorite fictional character. I model myself after him somewhat as I have a bad habit of using deductive reasoning all the time. MSW stands for Murder, She Wrote. This was my previous screen name and I kept the initials so that people would know that it was still me. Murder, She Wrote is one of my favorite TV shows. I am a big mystery fan, hence the combination of the two names in one screen name. -------------------- Mrs. Peacock: "Everything all right?" Colonel Mustard: "Yep. Two Corpses. Everything's fine." My name comes from the unholy abyss that is my mind. And it was created under the influence of skribbane. —Alorael, who would like to take this opportunity to once again remind everyone that his name is not Aloreal, and that he suffers needs to work on thinking before posting. quote:If your name is not Alorael, what's it then? Aloreal? :P My name is my own invention, and I think it dates back to about 1-2 years. I don't know what it meant then, but you can probably look it up in most major fantasy lingos and come up with a meaning you like. The syllables are rather popular with fiction languages. ;) [ Saturday, December 20, 2003 01:31: Message edited by: Arancaytar ] -------------------- "And all should cry, Beware, Beware! Sad to say, my name means nothing. At all. Originally I was Seaweed. It didn't mean anything, either. Then one day I decided to change it into Ironweed, for no reason whatsoever. But it does sound better. EDIT: Well, there was a reason for the Sea- to Ironweed change, actually. I wanted everyone to connect my former name with the new so I kept the -weed end. Hah. As if anyone had even noticed me at all during those days of auld lang syne, the newbie that I was/am. I'm also other kinds of weeds in other forums. Quess that's just me, somehow.
