That's odd - we had magi, archers, and poison-users in playoffs last season at the Arena. Heck, the WINNER was a mage. (And while the rules were quite different then, the Arena's general setup was the same in Season VII, when Sparrowhawk, a spell-absorbing mage-7, won the Arena.) Blademaster isn't a mod's actual title, Ed. On any non-Misc, non-General board, I'm just listed as Veteran. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Well, beyond that size, the AI can get screwed up. In any case, to answer your question, except in the case of poison killing both people on the same round (in which case I'd probably call a draw), whoever dies first is defeated, regardless of how badly doom hangs over the head of the other. I'd think TM should keep up with his own Arena. *smacks TM* The standard arena is 7x7. There are no obstacles. The monsters are at the center back rows of the arena. For three battles, one is placed first, Friendly (Will Fight), while the other is placed second, and Hostile Type A. After three, the monsters are switched. The team arena is 15x7. There are no obstacles. The monsters are placed in their team's 5 rows, with at least one forced to be in the first row, in the desired pattern. One places the first row of the first-movers, then the first row of the second-movers, then the second row of the first-movers, then the second row of the second-movers, etc. After three rounds, you switch sides. I'm not sure which arena setup TM is using for this, but I'd probably use the normal Arena, as I find Team Arena matches to be buggy on occasion and would prefer to not use them. In my Arena at least, one sees these monsters at the very beginning through windows, but immediately runs away down secret passages. The battle is described well enough in the text box. Bad advice, TM. You upgrade from Apprentice at a certain number of posts. This is not to be read as an incentive to continue double-posting (because that's Bad) or start spamming (because that's Bad too), but as an incentive to start making insightful posts about topics that interest you. Or join an RP and RP well. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

That block of 10 emperors was left blank because, well, it's for people to design scenarios in if you want one set in the actual Empire. (If the other Hawthornes and Prazacs were actually in a scenario, um, whoops.) Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Hm. TM says that the Aizoan Empire and Pralgadian Empire went to war, which the Aizoans won, overtaking the Pralgadian Empire. *i says that the Aizoan Empire collapsed and Sol I started his reign on Pralgad modeled after the Aizoan Empire. Hoorah. :P Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

As Oliver was searching around town, immediately after finding Manes, he was met by a man wearing, well, pink armor. Introducing himself as Daystar, he explained that he was bored with just sitting around town all day, and would much rather leave on a quest. And so he asked to join up with Montiman Oliver and his merry band. =Daystar, the Knight of the Rose= Type Undead Level 6 (+60) [60] HP 192 (+192) [252] Skill 10 (+50) [302] Speed 6 (+100) [402] Att 20d1 20d1 20d1 (+120) [522] Paralysis Touch (+65) [587] Imm --c- (+13) [600] Wears reddish-pink metal armor with no helmet except for a circlet of the same metal with two wings going back from the sides of it. Drakey also forgot to mention that NPCs have an absurdly large amount of spell points when compared to PCs in the Exile series, which helps make up for the fact that they do not know the first thing about conserving SP. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

quote:Played it, got killed, got killed badly, and went off and cried. However, in the general scope of this thread, I'd have to say that graphics DO matter more than some people seem to think - while the difference between FF4 and FF7 is pretty much just visual, the difference between games like Ultima Underworld 2 and Ultima 9 is a bit bigger, because the ability to move around in a 3D world adds to the gameplay. (Anyone pointing out any mod that displays the FPS of their choice in ASCII graphics shall be summarily shot.)
