Varelse is Grenada, an island-nation and former plantation colony of Britain. Upon gaining commonwealth status in 1967, the nation elected a socialist leader, who quickly made himself into a one-man state. His reforms did a great deal of good to the Grenadan economy, but the Reagan administration decried the Carribean's being a 'communist lake'. The US sprang into action, falsely claiming that American medical students were endangered, the Organization of East Carribean States -- of which Grenada was an active member -- had asked the US to intervene, and that Grenada was constructing an airbase to house Soviet aircraft. Acting against the wishes of the UN and the charter of the OAS, the US invaded in 1983; fighting stopped in a week, and the forces sent to Grenada were more disproportionately well-decorated in its wake than any other expeditionary force in American history (most reports agree that more soldiers were decorated than set foot on the island). Reports of Geneva convention violations went uninvestigated, and the 'elected' government quickly backslid into a totalitarian mess -- but a capitalist totalitarian mess. Neoconservatives still consider Grenada a great moral victory for the US, and it's obviously reminiscient of other, more recent unilateral actions. Overview: Supposed protectors of our homes and livelihood, firemen are actually demons born of no mortal mother and are capable of controlling the wild spirits of fire to their will. Their visages are frightful to behold but they disguise themselves behind human faces and publicly congregate in covens that they refer to as "fire departments". They are capable of projecting flames from their hands or eyes, causing huge conflagrations to spring up from the earth, and they can even melt through solid metal with their bodies -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1614 | Registered: Wednesday, January 23 2002 08:00 |

Snyder took the stage with a bunch of egg cartons precariously stacked up in a pile. He explained that each of the 100 green eggs represented 1% of good mail that should have been tagged as such and send by the MailFrontier and CloudMark mail filters onto the recipient. He carefully removed 1 green egg to indicate that at their best settings, each product let through about 99% of the good mail, while falsely identifying about 1% of the good mail as spam. To see Snyder's full report on these two products, check out Network World next Monday -------------------- Polaris Posts: 1614 | Registered: Wednesday, January 23 2002 08:00 |

Oh, honestly, Motrax. If we are not allowed to discuss such things, then what is the point of America being free?
