*sigh* Alt+Printscreen while on the BoA window to save a screenshot into your clipboard, then paste it into Paint. Save it as a .jpg or something. Then upload it to Geocities. Make an account there if you have to. I really don't think this is real, but if you want the information... Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I reload unless reloading wouldn't help. For those very few, very annoying times when I save in a bad situation, I go with revival via editor. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

No, although I'm pretty sure tGM held some position or another there. I was a member of tCoA in stealth, though. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Hm. Insert standard complaint about the dungeon - namely, it was too annoying, especially with that drop on the first floor, if you had to leave to heal and/or regain SP. Uh, running out of time after breaking the crystal doesn't actually kill you. It throws an error and then refuses to let you leave. Oops? That's about it as far as my comments go. I'd say that bonuses to missile damage would work with this, as would Sharpshooter. I'm wanting to get this for my mage, really. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Well, let's say I just played through your prefab-party scenario with your prefab party. I was going to go rate it on CSR or something, but then realized that I missed a part of the scenario. Rather than go back and play it all over again with a prefab party, I'd want to take in a god singleton just so I could breeze through to the part I missed. --- Also, regarding an earlier comment - most scenario players will suspend their disbelief in order to accept the premise of a scenario. The heroes of Babysitting are "forced" to have a sister, for example. Unless the balance of a scenario relies on you having a very specific set of stats, Areni, NTH, and Emulations being BoE examples, I'd really rather disrecommend a prefabricated party. It depends. I really don't believe that a lot of scenarios stand to gain from using a premade party. In any case, I wouldn't force the players to play as your characters. I'd suggest it and include that party, but it should be up to them to actually take your advice and use it. Most players will, really, and you won't alienate the ones who won't. Blaspheme - Not all information in places like that is canon, though. Total Flappish - a) Could you tell me the difference between a mage and a wizard? In pure game terms, a wizard is a higher-ranking, more powerful mage. These terms are practically interchangable, however. b) What was the empire like before the creation of Avernum? Well, it controlled the entire frigging world, so you could probably say it prospered. c) Are the Vahnatai now hostile with the Avernites because of their attack on the plague creating labs? And has the alliance swapped from Avernum and Vahnatai to the Empire and Avernum because of Avernum's help with the plague? Rentar's gang is probably pretty pissed at the Avernites at this point, yes, but her clan is far from the only Vahnatai clan out there. Avernum and the Empire are, as of the timeframe immediately following Avernum 3, allies, courtesy of the peaceful Empress Prazac. Jeff stresses compatibility, from what I can tell. This is a fairly reasonable standpoint. If you want to create such a scenario, you can host it in your own space. Jeff probably just doesn't want to hear complaints from morons who manage to overwrite their files permanently or do something ridiculously stupid while installing your scenario. Well, the Arena's sort of dead now. There may be a Blades of Avernum Arena eventually, though. EDIT : Desperance is also a place where you can come and post almost anything you want. As long as it doesn't piss absolutely everyone else off, it's usually fine. [ Tuesday, June 15, 2004 17:00: Message edited by: Imban ] Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

Sure you could, SNM. You just wouldn't be able to include your race mod in a scenario or anything, since it would require external tinkering. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |

I'm not a mod of this forum. Appears that some other mod or admin agreed with me, though. Anyway, looking through the scenario data files quickly, I couldn't find anything to do with it. Posts: 3234 | Registered: Thursday, October 4 2001 07:00 |
