@Tyran: I distinctly remember telling you on AIM that I wanted Ohvol heading to the Great Cave and the only reason he hit Torfen was because it was in the way. Why did you relocate to Almaria? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

And just about any back story that JV makes up would fail to please most people. It's better to just make up your own back story and leave it at that. -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

quote:I never said it was the first religion or the first moral code. What I said was that Judaism was the first religion that forced it's moral code upon it's followers. It would probably have been more accurate if I included the word 'documented' in there, but I thought that would be obvious. As for nobody caring, it is perfectly true except in the cases of governments that ruled by the word of god. And for those, a bystander would never be required to provide testimony about somebody elses crimes. quote:Let me remind you that we are talking about a biological standpoint, not a human one. quote:So it has never occured to you that this notion of the greater good you are so adamantly defending origionated in religion, something you are so adamantly against. Before Judaism (the first religion to forcefuly impose its morals upon its followers) nobody cared if you murdered, raped or pillaged. So long as you didn't do it to their kin (which supports my other point). quote:That is not what I said at all, and if you stopped making such assumptions you would realize that what I stated was the reasoning behind the fact that you stated. The evolutionary perogative for parents to care for their children is because children are a part of the parent. The parent knows that the child will survive long after the parent is gone. (I'm not going to get into the human side of that argument, just the animal one.) -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

quote:You must be joking. How many times have you seen an animal give up food in the hopes that the other animal it gave its food to will one day give him back food in return? Never. That cannot happen outside humanity. quote:That is a very selfish feeling. To have your line go on. Even at the expense of your own life in some cases. That's not the way it is at all. Five sixths of my band are LaVeyans and their motto isn't "if and only if you scratch my back will I scratch yours," it's more along the lines of "I'll scratch your back now, but you had better scratch my back soon otherwise bad things will happen to you." EDIT: typo. [ Monday, April 10, 2006 14:31: Message edited by: radix malorum est cupiditas ] -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

But if you are infringing upon somebody elses happiness and that person tells you to stop, you stop. The whole point of that is to maximize total happiness. Therefore it falls directly under what Alo said. -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

Depends if you look at it from a religious/humanitarian standpoint rather than a practical one. I'm not saying that those actions are right, I'm a devout Jew. I'm just saying that without religion these matters would be nonexistant. -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

Steam Caverns In the distance Ohvol could see a town. It was a small place, but he couldn't smell any of those damned vahnatai. He could see plenty of guards around it though, he would need to use another human disguise to get in. Muttering a command word, Ohvol's form changed. His skeleton warping, his skin shifting, in less than ten seconds he looked perfectly human. Around 1.7 meters (5'6") tall and 60 kilograms (132lb.), with long brown hair and beard, wearing torn and poorly mended farmers' clothes, he could be taken for any wandering vagabond. Walking up to the town, he was stopped by a patrol near the gates. "Sorry sir, we have orders to question all people entering Torfen." More idiot humans? This gets boring after a while. "Of course, go right ahead." "Where are you from?" "Mertis." "Wasn't the place was overrun by undead?" "Which is exactly why I'm not there anymore." "And where are you going to?" "Torfen." "For what purpose?" "To rest for the night before coninuing." "Where will you be going after that?" "The Great Cave." "Where in the Great Cave?" "Family." Getting annoyed with his lack of cooperation and getting befuddled for some reason, the guard forgot his line of questioning. "Well then go on in." "Thank you sir." -------------------- ??? ?????? ???? ????? Posts: 883 | Registered: Wednesday, October 19 2005 07:00 |

The wand of the inferno is part of a quest. The discipline wand deals a lot of damage to creations, and the spawner is a creation last I checked. The trick to using crystals and wands isn't they do more damage than your spells, it's that you can use two per turn. And if you want to use the wand instead of giving it up, it deals damage to all foes you can see, so it's quite a powerful wand. In fact, come to think of it, I believe you can use up all but one charge on it before completing the quest and get the same reward. As per your creations, I think the rout to take is to surround yourself with thahds and cast war blessing.
