Thanks! I was trying to push the blocks to the other area of water - Didn't notice that the center of the room had a pool. Duh. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Posts: 23 | Registered: Friday, October 14 2005 07:00 |

I've rescued Boutell and went north to the secret room with the blocks. When I push them outside the wall and then follow, my characters pass right through them! I can't push the block anywhere! I've tried other blocks and get the same result. I can push them around in the room, but once they go outside the wall, the characters walk right through the block. Did I miss something? I thought I saw a topic on this, but couldn't find it using the 'search' feature. It seems that my magic users are first in the fighting line even though my fighters have higher hit and energy points. How do I change the order so that the fighters fight first? -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' I've only played Avernum 3 prior to playing Avernum 4 and there are some things that I kind of wished stayed the same. One thing is the training part - I think the team should go to a temple or training area to get trained. Feels kind of weird just doing a train any where at any time. Now I was an avid Bards Tale player back in the 80's and just loved, loved that game. Avernum brings that same sense of adventure back, that's why I love the Avernum series. I also find it very hard to win battles in Avernum 4 with just a 'basic' set of armor and magic. Died a few times very early in the game, that didn't happen to me in Avernum 3 until later in the game as the opponents got smarter and harder to kill. I haven't played all the way through, but those two items so far I feel are a disadvantage to the game. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' I've just gotten that far and once I remembered that the two factions are at war with each other, I picked up the broken shards and ran, leaving the two tribes fighting amongst themselves. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' I didn't realize Civ IV was out already. Drat. I'm involved - really involved- in Avernum 3 right now. Looking forward to seeing how the new version compares to the earlier ones. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' I groan when I do becuase with newer PC games I often have to do something to the PC to make them work (ie. upgrade drivers, video cards, etc.). In my opinion, there's really no other life form in this solar system (besides Earth) - we need to develop engineering and scientific methods for searching in other solar systems or galaxies. As for mining useful minerals or gasses on other planets in our solar system - it could take decades to figure out how. I don't think we have the capabilities or the technology at this time. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Yes, I started over because I couldn'd find her, even after closing the door. I guess once she 'escaped' she wasn't interested in returning. I'll just start closing doors in the new game. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' I wasn't aware that the doors should be closed once you leave a room after talking to a person. That sounds kinda buggy. I gave up looking for her and started the game over. If it happens again I'll just either not bother with the quest or try to return to the Tower at a later date. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Tower of the Magi I found the lab notes that Carrie wanted in the monster room (I had to kill them to find the notes), and when I went back to the room in which Carrie teaches (the one with the pentagram) she wasn't there. I've been wandering around the Tower of Magi looking for her, but no luck. Is there another place she could be 'hiding'? -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Perhaps I forgot to walk into the walls in that room. I think the body and head injuries may have caused the party to become a bit disoriented. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Thanks for the hints! I found the guide, but I pretty much like to do things on my own. It feels like 'cheating' when using walkthroughs. Kind of takes the fun out of exploring on your own. Looks like I have to do things in a certain order, because from the walkthrough I've done everthing up to that point, but I didn't find the mage in the tower and I looked EVERYWERE, including secret rooms. Oh, well. I did get the message that he peeked through a door, sent some slimes my way and then ran away. Never found him again. -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Posts: 23 | Registered: Friday, October 14 2005 07:00 |

I just registered and don't have the guide book yet but managed to make it through Fort Emergence and then to the surface. Took care of stuff in Krizsan, Inn of Blades, Slivar, Colchis, Delan, Delis, Pergies, Agate Tower. I'm SE of Colcis and found the mountain (after battling slimes), but when I get to the top I get the message 'You've reached the end of the valley.... maybe there's information you can find elsewhere that would help you here.' What did I forget to do? [ Tuesday, October 18, 2005 15:44: Message edited by: aheisey ] -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?' Can you tell me where the senarios are for downloading? I went to a few sites and saw forums for discussing or rating senarios, but I didn't see any references for the downloads. *I found a site (http://www.avernum.com/blades/scen_stuff/solid.html), but if anyone has others, please email me. I noticed that Blades of Avernum and Avernum 3 are available for Mac OS X. I've run the demo's and both look the same. What's the difference between these two games and which one is the newest? -------------------- Poster: 'I love your demos, but I have Windows, what do I do?' Answer: 'Get a Mac?'
