I just noticed something. The more I progress in the game the more often it freezes. Also getting the horses or the boat seems to make it worse. I tested this by getting a boat and a horse and I couldn't take 3 steps without it freezing.

I just Realized more often than not my problems with this secnerio seem to happen in that huge castle like city near/on the river. I forget the name though.

Also, what do you mean by "freezing up"? Specifically.

The Mouse changes back to the windows mouse and still move but the game doesn't respond and if I try to close down BoA the computer itsself freezes.

I got a copy of A Large Rebellion from this site http://www.shadowvale.net/scenarios/ it seems to work but it seems to freeze up at random.

Pathfinder: Int 8, Nature Lore 6 (note that base Nature Lore depends on Intelligence)
Magery: Int 10, Mage or Priest Spells 6
Resistance: Dex 10, Endurance 11, Hardiness 8
Magical Efficiency: Magery 8, End 11
Lethal Blow: Anatomy 8, Blademaster 8
Riposte: Parry 8, Blademaster 6
Sharpshooter: Dex 6, Bows or Thrown Weapons 8

Advantages
Strong Back = -15% Encumberance (If Encumerance >=25% then Slowed + to max carried weight)
Nimble Fingers = +4 Tool use (May increase with levels I don't remember.)
Beastmaster = Calls An Animal? (Never used this one.)
Strong will =+20% chance of resisting mind control
Good Education =Rune Reading +10 (Although the bonus doesn't show on Rune Reading in the useful skills window.)
Toughness =+20%-30% Resistance to Illness
Fast on Feet =+1 Action Points (or less) +reaction time? (Used it once didn't like. So I don't really remember it well.)

Natural Mage =Can cast spells while encumered/ Can recover Some Spell points 1 Time per day
Formula belived to be (Max SP)/2

Elite Warrior =Seems to give bonuses to hit and damage (Not really a favorite Penalty to high to be worth it.)
Gives Go berserk.

Divinely Touched =Strength, Dexterity, & Intelligence +1 to start then +1(level/8) +1 at lvl 1 || +2 at lvl 8 || +3 at lvl 16
(No extra SP from intel bonus)
Gives Divine Aid, Call Spirit, Regenerate.

Disadvantages
Cursed at Birth = Details unknown. (never used it.)

Yes I'm playing on a friends pc. And Neither one of us can figure out how to reach the spire forest just southwest of fort dranlon It's really the only unfinished quest left.

What do YOU want to see in G4? in Geneforge Series

I don't know if anybody's Suggested this yet or not. But I would LOVE to be able to shape thorns I'm always running out. In fact despite haveing 95% hit and doing a lot of damage I'm lucky if my thorns last me ONE zone. Also it would be nice if you could create living tools. Some sort of pack mule type creature would be neat. It'd save me lot of weight and room in my inventory. Recipe components take up a lot of room.

After a long search I found that the GF3Prefs.dat file was being deleted. From the sound of this board I don't think I got it from spiderwebsoftware but I recommend that people check their task shecduleing programs and for windows the autoexec.bat and config.sys files. I don't know what the MAC version of those startup files are but I recommend that mac users check them too as commands in these locations caused my problems. Just in case you know.

I Have Windows. When I play the demo nothing happens that would make me think the game is unstable. I'm not reinstalling it. And to the best of my knowledge nothing is being deleted. I've E-Mailed This problem to JEFF VOGEL but no response.

I didn't type anything wrong.
I triple checked everything before sending it and now it appears that my registration key is changing with everyday.

This is for all of you having trouble getting the earrings. I had the same trouble. Then it occured to me why not have my spellcasters melee attack it. And BINGO I got the earrings. By the way my party is level 60+

Thanks for all the responses hard to believe I forgot Strong back's carried weight bonus :) and Divine aid's abilites. As for Elite warrior I used it once and never noticed the go bezerk ability. Specific thanks to Exodus13 for the SP recovery formula. I intend to post this on a web site as soon as I can find one willing to host it. :)

Hi After some work I compiled a list of the effects of the traits. It's incomplete I know if you have info for my chart let me know.

Character Traits

Special Encounter Help in Blades of Avernum

I don't know if this is the right forum or not. But I need some major help with making special encounters. First of all I'm using Jeff Vogel's version of the Windows editor. It's the only windows editor I can find!! I have a portal scenario exit. Also I'm working on some spell tomes. I can't find an error in the script file but the game WON'T call the script for the exit or the books.The script looks fine and the blue encounter square has the right script number in it. Could someone PLEASE send me a STEP BY STEP guide to special encounters for dummies. Jeff's instructions might as well be gibberish for all the help they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bahssikava Laser Puzzle 3 in Blades of Avernum

I am stuck on the Third Laser Puzzle in Bahssikava's Machinery level. The first two I Breezed through on my own. The third one though I am stuck on. I have spent 8 HOURS on it with DOZENS of lever resets. I know how the Lazers interact but I still can't solve it. Also everything I can seem to find says the refer to the help file. But the problem is the help file gives coordinates. But As far As I know Windows has no way to do that.
