Cryoa's also have much more powerful attacks even with weak stats. Anyway. You should get Vlish. They cost less - and they're attacks are practically as powerful. And it also depends if you are a SHAPER, a GUARDIAN, or an AGENT... What are you? P.S. If you don't know - you can learn Vlish in Medab - it's the locked door in Carnelian's lab. The Vahnatai should have given you a crystal to power the waste removal system if you've talked to them properly. That might be your problem. They will tell you about a shiny stone that the spiders have, and a scroll that tells you how to use the school's watse removal system, which a bloke called Pangle has. Then once you have the stone from the spiders, you can go to the school of Magery library. Give the golem in the NE corner a TEXTBOOK, and he'll dissolve into dust - leaving an important key!!! Using that key you can go into the School's control center, after battling a ton of Alien Beasts - Whach them - They're lethal. Once you're in the Control Place, you can turn on the power and the controls. Then go to the Waste Repository -(The place with all the poisonous green stuff). Then activate the controls, and run out of the control panel; You have to get to one of the doors - and then you wioll be teleported away by the Vahnatai. After that... Talk to the ghost on the surface - he'll give you 100 XP, and then you can leave forom the Fort - and you've won!!! It's Micael, Not Michael, but yeah, Magic users are the most important thing in Blades of Avernum. Some scenarios won't be winnable without magic. And anyway. It's fairly easy to get major magic once you are powerful enough to take on the big league scenarios. (Like this Tournament-Demons scenario I've just heard about. I mean - one town - lots of evil demons. You need a high level party - but once you're there with a high level party - there's sure to be good rewards). Play Diplomacy with Dead. In the major city there is a Super Priest and a Super Mage, all of which will teach you Super Spells, (for a SUPER SUPER) price... - Kep on trying for magical supremity. I had the same problem. What you have to do is... Make your town entrance at least 3x3, then you can enter from all directions. If you don't want certain sides to work, all you have to do is either block your town's sides, or set the internal town entrances to different places. Cleric, Sorceror, and all of the others actually mean anything once you've started the game. Because I don't see any differnce between my customs, and the classes. If I make a custom with exactly the same stats as an archer, they both turn out the same. So what's the point of the starting classes??? What I'm trying to say is, DO THEY DO ANYTHING? At high spell levels even the most useless spellcaster can kill things easily. Unless ofcourse you meet one of those lethal Skelton Javelineers from DwD. Warriors are fair, Mages are good, Priests are needed, Archers are Dangerous, But Archmages, Archpriests, or Archwizards rule!
