Nicothodes, read my post in the "Mouse buttons" thread. The same applies here. Please stop reviving long-dead topics. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. ESTP 22%, 1%, 44%, 11%. The profile doesn't really seem to apply to me, but the percentages are so low that I suppose I'm only barely an ESTP. I've never owned a pet. My parents were always staunchly against the idea, and my dormitory at college only allows residents to keep fish. Once I have my own place, though, I plan to own at least five or six ferrets. Mind you, I voted dishonestly. I believe for a week or so back in '03, I was posting at a clip of around seventeen a day. That was heady stuff. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I'll never come close to matching that rate again. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Fried plantain chips are excellent, indeed. They're great salted, but even better with a bit of Indian masala, in my opinion. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. In my opinion, salt-and-vinegar chips are the best there are. And has anyone here ever given Curry Ramen Smoodles a try? They're easily my favorite form of Ramen noodles. You'll probably only be able to find them in an international food store or Indian grocery store, though. For lunch, I had rice with samber, a zesty vegetable stew. Green bean curry on the side, with some sprout salad, a bowl of plain yogurt, and a tall glass of water. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. ...of the attack ferret army! It's been a long time coming, what with all my times of inaction and prolonged absences, but I've finally managed a thousand posts. As such, I have joined many other luminaries in creating a thoroughly self-centered topic in order to receive the adulation of the masses. That said, Make merry! -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. Thanks for the compliments, BSC and Red Book. Perhaps my poem could find a fit in a fantasy novel, Red Book, although I've always felt that, outside of the rather simple mountain metaphor, there was nothing all that unearthly about it. It simply deals with the fear and uncertainty involved in stepping outside one's sphere of comfort, and that's a theme that seems to resonate more with ordinary people living simple lives than anyone else. I've never considered publishing it, but I suppose it is an option. I've been recently trying to write another poem, this one regarding the feelings of ineffectuality and hopelessness that can result from problems of motivation such as the ones which I have suffered for some time. Fittingly, I can't quite motivate myself to finish it. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed."- The Bhagavad Gita. Posts: 1798 | Registered: Sunday, October 5 2003 07:00 |

For lunch, I had some of one of my mom's fantastic culinary creations- tomato rice. She's an extraordinary chef, and is every bit as good at cooking up typical American dishes as she is at preparing Indian food. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. I sided with the Empire and Jaen. Both Stalker and Jaen are ruthless and quite unscrupulous, but I found Jaen to be the more personable of the two, and certainly the one with the greater capacity for gratefulness. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. Just managed to find my old poem. My apologies in advance to those who have already seen this the three or so times I've posted it. I have lived in the mountain for years. Breathed its dank air Dreamt dreams, indulged my fears Engaged in thoughts both mundane and rare. I have wandered its passages long. Found secret portals and dark lairs I have been filled with joy, have broken into song, Have watered the hard ground with my tears. A rough-hewn stairway exists here Leading up into shadowy unrest Its destination shielded from the sharp eye’s peer Hidden in the cloak of mist. I have thought often of making the climb. Of trekking up the tortuous stair And reaching the top, aching limb from limb To find a world far more fair. But whenever this thought occurs to me I realize its danger, its deceptive facility And considering everything, I always see I’m better off in my mountain of security. -------------------- Stughalf "Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed."- The Bhagavad Gita. I've written a single poem, which I've posted in several other poetry threads. I would post it again, but I don't have it on this computer. I haven't delved deeply into poetry, as I vastly prefer prose. As such, I don't have all that many favorites. I've found Lewis Carroll's poetry to be the most memorable of all that I've read.
